A congressional plan to make Planned Parenthood ineligible for federal funding would leave many women without services to help them avoid pregnancy, resulting in thousands of additional births, according to a new federal budget analysis.

The prediction came Monday as part of a much-awaited analysis from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, which assesses the fiscal impact of major legislative bills. It was part of a more sweeping look at a congressional health care bill that would repeal and replace the law known as Obamacare.

    Oh the horror!

The Liberals worst nightmare is realized! More babies are coming!

I wonder if the Left realizes how tone deaf they have become to the actual values or the American people?

I get that planned parenthood offers birth control, but gyn/ob doctors offer the same thing. The women who would qualify for services at Planned Parenthood should also either receive medicaid or heavy subsidies for a health insurance policy.... so why are we supposed to pretend that Planned Parenthood is the only place they have access to birth control? PP should no longer be needed since Obamacare.

Its the age old game of identifying a specific trigger issue that plays well in focus groups and using that to create a bloated inefficient government bureaucracy that does the exact same thing as another bloated inefficient government bureaucracy that already exists.

Republicans (at least the wise ones) prefer not to play God like the left does. The stakes are far higher than you or they realize.

So if I have this correct: The LEFT hates the idea of letting poor people have babies because it may affect them financially, to what degree no one can say but I doubt it is much at all for one individual tax payer. And yet, the LEFT demands we let millions of illegals in the southern border and give them every kind of subsistence on the books. They also demand we let in tens or hundreds of thousands of unvetted Muslims and to hell with the terrorism risk involved. Such prudence.

As usual, RWers, are the ones who don'e understand American values.

As antiabortion activists expect President Trump to move forward on his promise to defund Planned Parenthood, a new poll out Friday suggests that 62 percent of Americans oppose cutting off federal funding for Planned Parenthood while 31 percent support the move.

Your poll is not honest. If the question was, "Do you support tax dollars going to abortions?", then you Liberal lose every time. That was not the question asked.

I give you Hobby Lobby. Don't remember? Hobby lobby got a ruling that it didn't have to provide birth control in its employee insurance plans. The result? People making just above minimum wage do not have access to those types of medical services. So, they turn to Planned Parenthood.

Not a single dollar of government money is spent on abortion services by Planned Parenthood.

I have no issue with local health clinics giving out conception for for poor people. Not sure that a federal agency needs to be involved other than to dole out the money to state and local agencies, especially regarding abortion on demand at any stage during a pregnancy. Anything beyond the first trimester is murder if the mother's life is not in danger, in my opinion. That being said, I'm otherwise pro choice.
The reality is such that until there are entitlement reforms regarding the birth of children to those on the dole, baby momma indigents will NEVER go away. In most cases they choose that path and the flow of bennies.

Planned Parenthood does not spend one dollar of tax money on abortion services. Whether the poll is honest or not is irrelevant, our question is certainly not.

The poll from Quinnipiac University suggests that women are more opposed to the idea of defunding Planned Parenthood than men, 69 percent to 55 percent. By party 63 percent of Republicans support defunding the organization, compared with 7 percent of Democrats and 31 percent of independents.

Of those who were polled, 70 percent say they agree with the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that determined abortion as a woman’s right, while 26 percent disagree. The Pew Research Center poll last fall found a similar number (69 percent) oppose overturning the decision.

    Nope..

Tax dollars, at least the federal ones, do not support abortions currently. So if you asked that question, your poll would be dishonest as well.

If no tax money goes to abortions, how will defunding them result in thousands of more births?

God forbid if adults take responsibility for their own bodies! Planned Parenthood can still give out birth control, but if people don't use it, then they think they can use abortion as their birth control. I notice that the people who are so pro abortion have already been born. Thank your moms for that...

There is only a problem, IF, these women live lives of being irresponsible. With modern birth control, if these women were responsible human beings, abortion would be as rare as chickun' teeth. Irresponsible human beings are the problem. Why should taxpayers have to pay for their irresponsibility? This is not the 1940s where a ****** or a rubber was the only means of birth control. There is no excuse for a pregnancy these days, unless it is rape of someone not taking birth control.

But we enable irresponsible behavior, for we subsidize it. What in hell does one think happens when you can be irresponsible with your own body and taxpayers will pay for your own irresponsibility? We have a tremendous problem with subsidizing irresponsible human behavior. And we damn well need to stop it.

So, if you want to lay up and screw, with no birth control, fine. But the rest of society who act responsible should not have to pay for it. Of course if you wanted to cut down on minorities screwing like rabbits and having kids they cannot support, you would of course fund abortions well, and even give away a free smart phone when you had the child murdered by doctors. The founder of planned parenthood wanted to kill out minorities, and they have been doing it since its founding. So if you wanted to save our culture, you would abort as many minority kids as possible, and then not fund any abortions for whites. Grow the white population, kill out the minority population.

I don't see the need for a federal agency to be involved. That money could go directly to the state and local level. Cut out a layer of red tape.

Don't we have enough single mothers and wards of the state? How do you think they are likely to vote? Why are you cheering this?
