Honestly, the Pats could turn him into a solid wide receiver

Apparently patriotic Americans care about respecting our flag and the soldiers who fought and died for it if you're an American citizen. Patriotism isn't shoved down anyone's throat. It's bred into the people who are proud of their country. I give a **** about standing for the National Anthem, and I'm not alone.

Didn't his odd behavior start after he started dating this Muslim girlfriend of his?
Yeah. Overpaid, unreliable and in some sort of weird transition that is headed, who knows where.

Kaepernick has never shown himself to be anything more than "adequate," barely. He's a career QBR in the mid 60s and a turnover generated for every 190 yards of offense.

The real question deals with every team's view of the backup QB. Is it solely an emergency role or is it more of a developmental role with emergency duties? In Kaepernick's case it is solely an emergency role so the question becomes...

For the cost is Kaepernick going to perform as well or better than other available options?

In most NFL offenses Kaepernick's skills are not a good match. He's not a classic "pocket passer" so his insertion into a game for most NFL teams would require major changes to the offense execution in order to accommodate Kaepernick's skills. A few teams, Seattle and Carolina come to mind, could use his skills without major changes to the scheme. Some others might (Cleveland, Houston, Denver) depending upon the directions they take on offense.

Kaepernick's "baggage?" Inconsequential. If he had the skills other teams would have traded for him in 2015 when he was benched. If his presence as a starter could turn Houston, for example, into a 12 win team, Houston would sign him today but he don't and they ain't.

Fans excused van Brocklin, Namath, Stabler, because they won. Fans don't care about Kaepernick's politics. They care about winning and winning is the only parameter that will prompt any team to sign Kaepernick.

    That....actually might work for them.

I'm actually confident that Shanahan will turn around the 49ers in some way by this upcoming season's end since his past record of being an OC worked out pretty well.

Agreed. It doesn't. Glad to see you might actually be coming out of the 60's.

This goes back to "If you're gonna be a dick, you better be a good player..." T.O. was good, I hated him but he was good. Deion Sanders was a dick, but I liked him and he was good.

49ers management and ownership is just awful. If they let Kyle run his team his way, they should be successful. Colin most certainly isn't the man for that job. I predict Cousins being the face of that team for the long term.

Can Colin catch the ball? The Pats are looking for another tight end

I hated Brady until I found he was a friend of, and supported Trump. Now I root for him, right after my Saints and Drew Brees.

Wishful thinking ... Tim Tebow, was black-balled for sure, and everyone knows why. The NFL has zero tolerance for "taking a knee"... IMO Tebows situation illustates that racism doesn't influence these franchise decisions.

Reeeally??? I hadn't heard of that... This could explain quite a lot of his anti-American actions...

I can think of so many players who are or were immense dickheads, moreso that T.O. and somehow still got contracts. Adam "Pacman" Jones, Cortland Finnegan, Greg Hardy, even Michael Vick.

Yeah you can't be religious if it's Christianity that is your religion... I always respected Tebow for being such a class act even though he was the QB for LSU's 2000's rival college football team. Tebow was a very hard QB to beat when he was at Florida.

And Chad "Eight Five" Johnson, and Plaxico Burress, and Steve Smith (Panthers), but none of them were as good as T.O..

But 3 of them were complete criminals, especially Pacman Jones.

Thats because Foles recognizes that he is a backup and asks for backup money, 2 years 11 million. Kapernick is asking for a starters money in a cap driven league. Its a buyers market fir QBs this year. There are plenty of borderline starters out there so Kapernick cant demand a high price.

Exactly the same reason some of these veterans are not signed yet. AP needs to lower his asking price to 2 million and someone will take him. I heard on Mike and Mike that he's expecting around 6 million.

God only knows what Colin is asking for. Still think he should come to the Pats as a tight end alongside Gronk.

Shoot man, when has the NFL ever cared about criminals? Pacman was probably the worst of them all. It's actually a damn shame. Being a professional sports player is the biggest privilege a person can have Pissing it away is an absolute shame.
