Yes. Why is that so hard to believe?

Because everyone knows who Terrell Owens, he was one of the most talented yet arrogant, attention whoring and prolific wideouts in the game. Think Deion Sanders on offense.

Ah, not everyone.:D I don't follow sports and the only reason I know who Kapernick is because he gets a lot of news coverage. He may not be the most famous football player, but he is certainly one of the most famous jerks. I know I heard the name Deion Sanders, but I don't remember why he was famous.

Oh I see. Well if you've got time, he's got a lot of history in the league and he was certainly never boring to watch. He did end up playing for 5 different teams over the course of his career and had some classic moments.

Then explain why other first world countries don't do this to the same extent? It's just a useless ego stroke, you can be proud of your country without worshipping it and it's flag like some cult. If you're a patriotic American, then do things to actually help. Donate, vote for policies to help veterans and their families, celebrate patriotic holidays that are actually meant for this kind of stuff instead of shoehorning superficial appreciation into every little thing.

He wasn't quite the role model that Aaron Hernandez was, but he tried.

That flag helped free the world twice.

People have died making sure it kept flying.

The least you can do is stand up and show some respect for your country. There are other ways to get your point across.

Besides, people aren't paying for a football game to watch some guy try to get his point across in such an unintelligent way.

Football was his job, he should have at least respected that and protested in other ways.

He should've scored a touchdown (when he had it 1st and goal on the 7) in the SB vs the Ravens.

Is it any wonder that he doesn't have job?

    He choked in the clutch.

Colin SackorPick is a racist POS and nobody wants near him. The NFL understands that "white" people watch them and take offence. Not to mention he's not even good. If he wasn't such a collectivist tool, projecting the lefts hate for America, he'd be a nobody.

Kaep hasn't been around as long, but statistics show he's on pace to play less games than AP if you look at his history. AP hasn't been in the league 2X Kaep, so Kaep is on pace to play far less games. The reason he did well with Harbaugh is that Harbaugh believes in players passionately. I think he really believed Kaep was the QB for the system and told him to trust his feet. Just a guess though

A lot of players are system players. Take them out of what they do well and they will struggle. True for quarterbacks, defensive ends and linebackers. Tebow is another example. Put him in a system where he uses his feet, size, and strength and he was a force. Unfortunately, the shelf life for that is short in a violent sport and the NFL has become more of an entertainment venue, fantasy league than a true team sport. Players are moved around like pawns and likewise they've come to care only about the money. I don't blame them, the old "hate the game, not the player" is an appropriate cliche. Tebow is a good example of why teams shy away from controversial players with marginal traditional/conventional skills, even though Colin and Tim are about as polar opposites as you can get. They just don't want the distraction.

Maybe it was just the consistency of being under Harbaugh, for not just Kaep but the whole team. 44 wins, a Coach of the Year award, 3 straight trips to the playoffs, 3 straight NFC Championship appearances, a Super Bowl berth, a top 5 defense in those 4 years. Keeping in mind that prior to him, the 49ers' last playoff appearance and winning season was in 2002.

I just can't agree. Dan Marino was an infinitely better QB than Flacco could ever hope to be. Not even close. Peyton was a way better QB than his brother is or will be. Same amount of rings. Wins and rings don't tell you who is a better player. Flacco benefitted from one of the best defenses of all time.

Qb's do have a lot on their plate, but it takes all 22 guys on the field to win the game.

George Teague will always have in place in Cowboys fans hearts for that.

I was at Keyshawn Johnson's house when the cowboys cut him so they could sign TO. Boy was KJ angry when he came back from valley ranch. (The company I worked for at the time built his home here and I was doing warranty work inside his home that day.)

I never said Flacco was a better QB than Marino, only a fool would think that, winning a SB ring is the only think Flacco has over Marino. Marino owns him in just about every other category because Marino is a HOFer and played like that for his whole career and was the face of the Dolphins for all of that time. In fact if I could name the top 5 QBs in the league now, it'd be Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Roethlisberger and Russell Wilson, with Cam Newton followed really close behind him.

Now if we wanna talk comparisons with Flacco, Matt Ryan would be the first name to come to mind.

Amusing as that was, that would never be allowed in today's game.

Well the argument before was that Kaps on the market while "lesser" qbs arent. It was stated these qbs were "lesser" qbs because they had worse overall win-loss record than Kap. Wins and losses are a team thing.

    To put it in perspective:

Quincy Carter(18-17) should have been a better QB than Archie Manning(35-101-3) but he wasn't.

Today: penalty on TO, ejection for Teague.

Then: penalty on TO, ejection for Teague.

Hence the patriotic holidays that have their place and should be respected.

You're right, people don't watch football for politics. That's why the national anthem has no place there.

Colin Kaepernick is a mindless idiot whose biggest problem is listening to his activist girlfriend.

    Good.

If you are going to take such a sideshow character on your team...well, he has to be another Tom Brady level talent to make it worthwhile and counterbalance the bad press and image. Unfortunately for Kaepernick, he's not even close...all you'll get is the bad media headlines and annoyed fans without the rings.

I don't see anyone rushing to pick this bum up.

I guess as long as she's trashing him for something she should read up on this:

    http://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/03/her...elping-with-the-devastating-famine-in-somalia

Wasn't the Anthem being a weekly tradition done in response to 9/11?

Yea he needs to ditch his terrorist-loving girlfriend. She's a cancer to his career as well. No NFL organization wants her affiliated with them.

That decrease was mostly due to SNF and MNF schedules that presented an unusual number of just bad games. Ether uninspired matchups interesting only to regional audience or games that were blowouts early.

That and the increasing number of legal and illegal live streams that do not show in the ratings.
