    - Do you agree that transgender-ism has become a fashion-trend?
    - What do you think is behind the trend of children and teenagers who wish to have a sex change increases so dramatically every year?
    - Do you think it is right that pre-pubescent children and pubertal teens have the right to change their sex?
    - Is this even, in your opinion, worrying at all?

-I think that it is becoming more popular (as with the gays) its become medically proven as a natural and as transition is necessary for transsex people to live their lives. I think it has become a trend to make up genders and dilute the definitions. Medically speaking Gender is an expression on psychological as it is based in personality. This is why6 saying youre "Gender non-binary" Is repetitive and causes unneeded divisiveness in that it causes stupid debates about irrelevant issues (Bathrooms in NC.) My opinion? Get rid of "Gender." In a post-industrial society expression is a part of human enjoyment and falls under right to happiness. It is beneficial to get rid of barriers that were only needed in a patriarch society that no longer (Debatedly) exists.

-Teenagers (As a part of American human nature) are rebellious to past generations who deny facts on things regarding to LGBT issues (Most recently.) This has always been the case, from Vietnam war protesters, to anti-iraq protesters, all generations in America form as reactions to another. This can only happen in a superpower hawk nations. So teenagers will be more open to discovering themselves (and like me) realize something they never thought they'd be.

-Yes, absolutely. Not only will they (in their teens) be more susceptible to effects of gender Dysphoria (A DSM-V diagnosis of distress.) Blocking puberty has many benefits, and According to the Endocrine society, blockers are safe and harmless. These are also reversible and lessen the effects of Gender Dysphoria. This gives the patient time to decide on if they should transition and go to more permanent operations. Before I go on I'd like to state the hormone blockers DON'T permanently make you infertile, thats what happens when you take cross-sex hormones, which can only happen at age 16. The medical procedure and diagnosing of trans kids is lengthy, thorough, and effective. We shouldn't deny these kids their happiness.

-Not at all, but it is worrying many people would rather let their kids and the kids of others fall to depression and even suicide at their own ignorance of Gender Dysphoria and its side effects. Such people dont deserve kids in the first place. A society that doesn't care about the happiness of its people is a society slowly dying. And its our duty to make as much people as possible, happy.

Thats all I'll say. If anyone wants any other info or questions Ill respond wither here or in DM's.

I do not really agree with your Liberal "mañana mañana" -kind of way of approaching this question. Sure, gender - or more exactly femininity/masculinity rather than gender/sex itself (XX/XY) - is very much a psychological matter. I agree that an adult (a sexually developed human) should be allowed to change their sex if they so wish. It does not really concern me.

However, when it comes to children (sexually and psychologically undeveloped human beings), it is highly important not to "brainwash" them or in any other way hamper their curiousity and personality. Children do know the difference between boys and girls, but they do not really contemplate too much about their own "gender identity". Often children will enjoy dressoing up as the oposite gender and this does not really mean anything at all. It is just expression of that genuine child play-imagination and curiousity - No child is an actual tranny.

I doubt there are actual 6-16 year olds who are actually trans. It really scares me when I see that these age groups are included in the "gender dysmorph stats" and it kind of makes me throw up when I realise that it is probably because of idiotic parents who tell their girl that "maybe you are a boy!"

    Absolutely disgusting.

This is not the same thing. When I grew up there was an awkward tomboy on my street. She had short hair and always wore boy clothes. We all found her very weird, but she was cool. Turned out she was a lesbo as she hit her teens. ;)

This is not about little kids acting like the opposite sex though, but about little kids who actually line up to have a sex change!!!!!

Just wondering about the actual numbers here - are we talking about a decision that is taking place amongst .00002% of the population or is it .00000002% of the population? In the US, you are more likely to get hit at a railroad crossing than have a sex change operation.

    Just asking.

Of course we are talking very small numbers here. The article tells the number of kids and teens applying for sex-change in 2016 was 197, a 100% increase compared to 2015.

Dors not change this being messed up though.

So how many of the applicants actually get approved and go through the procedure?

But you stated that, "6 year olds were lining up," for the procedure. How many six year olds have applied for the operation?

/Sigh for the fail in this thread.

I think HonestJoe and Krxv summed up my feelings quite nicely. My large community of friends in Ft Lauderdale is very diverse and there are four trans gendered people I know personally. Two MtF and two FtM. Three of them have done a magical~esque turnaround. To see someone go from sad and miserable (sometimes suicidal,) to be happy, joy-filled, productive people is... stunning. One of them, sadly, took her life after six years. She was suicidal on either side. Very sad person, all around.

There's a boy I've known since he was born. He's 17, now. For his first several Halloween's, he always dressed up like a girl. He'd do it other times, too, if the situation was right. He liked to play with make up and dolls. Now, he's much more boy-like. He just wasn't very interested in what grown ups said about which things he should and shouldn't like to wear or play with when he was young. Some kids are seriously uncomfortable living inside the narrow boxes some people put them in.

I think we put a lot of pressure on kids to get them shoved into boxes we approve of, way, way too early. Let them be, let them explore...

Now. Ahem. Six year olds are NOT lining up at Trans-R-Us to get a sex change.

    Another point - Gender isn't a true/false question.

If males are 0 and females are 1, then hermaphrodites are .5 . There also exists a .1, a .2, a .3. C'mon, you ALL knew kids in school who seemed more girlish than boyish and vise-versa. It's a spectrum.

This has literally nothing to do with topic.

Ahem, check the OP and read the link (assume you are not Swedish, so use Google translate)

There is a difference between masculinity/femininity and male/female. I do not know in how many threads on here I have pointed that out. This is still kind of off topic though.

It's a sickening thought to let children mutilate their bodies..

    1. The topic is very much related.
    2. Yes and no. If a male looks like a woman, acts like a woman and in every way except a penis, is a woman... how is it unrealistic to believe that person was born with the brain not matching the genitalia? The science is pointing more and more to that being the case.
    3. Children are in "line" for consultations, not surgery. The article quoted says they have to wait until at least 15, which is still ridiculously young, though. The article translated poorly, though, so it's hard to tell what is really meant.

I'm 100% against letting a child make this decision, but I absolutely support hormone blockers for pre-teens who have spent their entire life "knowing" they were in the wrong body. The science is there... our genitals and brain's concept of our sexuality develop at different times and sometimes, they don't line up perfectly. Hence, the spectrum....

I can't be sure of anything, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt to a parent who says their child has been claiming to be the opposite sex from a very young age. I support those parents, working in collaboration with their doctors and/or psychiatrists, to put the child on hormone blockers until they reach the age of consent.

Those imaginary children are asking for, and not actually doing it themselves.

    I perceive much Agenda here.
    Very little fact.
Without intense coaching and being led, the average 6 year old will have absolutely no idea, beyond wishing, what is actually involved.

With the ladies that get boy haircuts and wear baggy jeans and the crosddressing men, and the so called "non binary" yes. I've herd them refered to as transtrenders.
I would think there are several contributing factors. First, patents want to support their children. So if they say they feel like the opposite sex or want to pretend to be the opposite sex patents think it means something. Second social acceptance. Third the trendy part of it, being edgy.
If we were to allow this there needs to be a check list. Perhaps have three doctors evaluate the patient before anything is done.

    Yes, the options are binary...

...which means this is all nonsense.

    So?

Because it presumes God is a screwup.

Something tells me the distinction between that and the pronouncements of people who profess to be scientists escapes you.

"Sex reassignment surgery" should not be allowed on children, at all, in any case, period.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-girls-turn-into-boys/?utm_term=.960492a19720

The above article (Which can be found elsewhere, I simply saw this village referenced in a documentary and forgot the name so googled and cp'd the first source) pretty much demolishes any notion children should have any sort of reassignment surgery.

In this village, children have a massive chance to be born "girls" and then "become boys" once puberty hits.

This is all hormones, chromosomes, etc.

It's not as simple as "I want/I am" pronoun non-binary nonsense. Children are children; they have limited brain function compared to adults, their brains are not fully developed, and as adults, we need to teach them to be tolerant of themselves and not worry about identity politicking by disgusting charlatans and demagogues who call themselves ****ing fairiekin or pixiekin!

    It's a total joke.
