The warning was thirty minutes not enough time to do much more than tell your people to get out of dodge. We likely destroyed a lot sarin gas in that attack. A day or two let alone a week and all we would have accomplished is killing empty building.

It's interesting to note that Russia seems to have backed off abit from unconditional support for Assad they atr basically in it for the naval base. If they could have the base without having Assad I suspect they'd take that deal in a heart beat

Trump was very decisive, and acted within 48 hours of the provocation with this surprise attack.
That has not been the American way, and our smarter foreign enemies are shocked and chilled - for good reason.

Actually, & sorry, but I haven't the time to grab the links, maybe someone else can, it appears the Chemical storage areas went untouched.... Assuming they were still there in the first place.

    I'll catch up later.

Then Trump relied on a more reliable source than the NYT - ask former Senator Edwards. ;-)

    Yup.

And if Donald Trump gets a boost in his favorable ratings out of this...expect lots more in the way of attacks.

We'll see where that leads us.

Maybe you guys are right...that the world will be a better, safer place if we do that kind of thing.

But maybe you are morbidly wrong! Which I think you are.

Liberals, conservatives and middle-of-the-roaders have mixed feelings on this.

Lying PolitiFact retracts 'mostly true' ruling that US removed '100 percent' of Syria's chemical weapons under the hapless and rather useless Obama.

Fact-checking website PolitiFact on Wednesday retracted a 2014 article that found it "Mostly True" the Obama administration helped broker a deal that successfully removed "100 percent" of chemical weapons from Syria.

"We struck a deal where we got 100 percent of the chemical weapons out," then-Secretary of State John Kerry said on NBC's "Meet the Press" in July 2014. Kerry was referring to a deal the U.S. and Russia struck in September 2013 in which the Russians agreed to help confiscate and then destroy Syria's entire chemical weapons stockpile.

When making its ruling, PolitiFact cited a statement from Ahmet Üzümcü, director general of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

"The last of the remaining chemicals identified for removal from Syria were loaded this afternoon aboard the Danish ship Ark Futura," Üzümcü said in June 2014.

In the end, PolitiFact called Kerry's claim "Mostly True"

Yep...the proverbial Genie has been let out of the bottle. Trump got his first taste of the elixir of real presidential power, without having as yet learned the consequences.

It won't be long before he takes another sip, and another, and another....

Rather than having it spoonfed through your mother, Fox News, let's see what Politifact says:

Revisiting the Obama track record on Syria’s chemical weapons
Given recent events, we have pulled that fact-check (you can read an archived version here) because we now have many unanswered questions.

We don’t know key details about the reported chemical attack in Syria on April 4, 2017, but it raises two clear possibilities: Either Syria never fully complied with its 2013 promise to reveal all of its chemical weapons; or it did, but then converted otherwise non-lethal chemicals to military uses.

One way or another, subsequent events have proved Kerry wrong.

In fact, international investigators concluded last year that the Syrian government had gamed the system.

In October 2016, a joint effort by the United Nations and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons reported that Syrian Arab Armed Forces had dropped chemical-laden bombs four times between 2014 and 2015. (That conclusive evidence was not available at the time of the original fact-check. One of our principles is that we rate statements based on what is known at the time.)

The U.N. group also found that Islamic State units had fired shells filled with sulfur mustard (mustard gas) in an attack in 2015.

Syrian forces used chlorine gas in 2014 and 2015. Brian Finlay, president of the Stimson Center, a military and defense think tank in Washington, noted that Syria promised to rid itself of sarin, mustard and VX, a nerve agent. But chlorine-based chemicals present a different challenge.

"They can be used for perfectly legitimate and essential civilian purposes today, and repurposed tomorrow to perpetrate heinous crimes like those we witnessed in Syria this week," Finlay said.

In November 2016, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons pointed out the failure of the Syrian government to live up to the promises it made in 2013. The group’s executive committee "demanded that the Syrian Arab Republic comply fully with its obligations."

In the latest incident, the Russian government has suggested that Syrian aircraft had hit rebel chemical stockpiles. Military experts challenged that, saying whatever agent was involved, the way it spread wasn’t consistent with that explanation. The Syrian government has made the same argument about rebel stockpiles before. When pressed for details by international inspectors, it has provided none.

In the days and weeks to come, we will learn more about the recent attacks, but in the interest of providing clear information, we have replaced the original fact-check with this update.

Politifact is a lying leftist echo chamber, where you get your spoonfeeding...proven.

Who gives a crap what they say? At least FOXNEWS isn't HIDING THE FACTS from us, like your "news sources" have so desperately done...

If you review my posts you will note that I am very anti-war. Another regime change mess engineered by Trump could destroy his presidency. Another big ME invasion with high casualties and no end to war will destroy his presidency. If Trump avoids those traps he will be fine.

    Very mature of you.

So tell me, how does it feel to know NOW that Trump is now on the side of ISIS?

See, that's the nuance you Trumpies do not get. Assad is fighting ISIS.

Assad is bad, ISIS is bad, and Putin is using Syria and Assad to extend his reach into the Middle East.

In essence, Trump has put us into the middle of a Mexican standoff.

    We are both anti-war, then.

My concern is that if Donald Trump gets a ratings boon from this action...he will consider other like actions.

Donald Trump is, first and foremost, concerned with Donald Trump.
