I recall when the republicans were screaming about Emperor Obama and his Pen dictating to America. Now when Trump uses his pen to simply cancel existing policies and regulations, its seen as a great accomplishment (even when he forgets to sign his own EOs). I recall when republicans shut down the government over ballooning debt ceilings and attempting to tie unpopular policies to the debt limit increase, now they are on the other end and trying exactly the same thing.

His legislative efforts have all been DISMAL failures so far, with the best being the amateurish attempt to "shove down america's throat" a repeal and sorta replace obamacare.

His foreign policy has been a dogs breakfast giving him the opportunity to show the world exactly how ignorant he is and how shockingly ill prepared he is for such a great negotiator. He needed a 10 minute history lesson from the Chinese president to comprehend the few thousand years of history between Korea and China, not to mention that it was a tad more complicated than he thought. He seems to be getting surprised a lot lately with how complicated things actually are. Who knew? Everyone except trump and the trumpettes.

"Sanctuary" Cities Face Aid Cuts as Justice Dept. Tightens Screws

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration escalated its confrontation with so-called "sanctuary" cities that limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities, threatening them anew Friday with the loss of grant money if they do not remove certain barriers.

“Many of these jurisdictions are also crumbling under the weight of illegal immigration and violent crime,” the Justice Department said...

The agency cited the rising murder rate in Chicago and cast blame for gang murders in New York on a soft on crime stance. After the recent arrests of 11 members of the MS-13 Salvadoran street gang, the deputy police chief of Santa Cruz, Calif., warned other MS-13 members that they would be next.

President Trump ran on a platform of cracking down on illegal immigration and issued an executive order during his first week in office... Attorney General Jeff Sessions warned that recipients of federal law enforcement grants were required to comply with a 1996 law, signed by B.J. Clinton, that bars the local authorities from forcing officials to withhold information from federal immigration authorities about people’s immigration status.

The recipients of the letters were warned that as a condition of receiving 2016 grants, they must certify by June 30 that they were in compliance with the law. That enforced a deadline on a policy put in place under the Obama administration, which announced the policy last July.

Several municipal leaders vowed defiance; Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York said he would fight in court any attempt to strip funding from the city.

On Friday, Nisha Agarwal, the commissioner for the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs in New York, said the city was prepared to respond by the June 30 deadline. She declined to say what the city would tell the government.

In California, the hard-line Latino State Senate leader, Kevin de León of Los Angeles, charged that it was basing its law enforcement policies “on principles of white supremacy — not American values.”

Preet Bharara, the former United States attorney for New York’s Southern District, said the Justice Department would make no one safer...

“Failure to comply with this condition could result in the withholding of grant funds, suspension or termination of the grant, ineligibility for future O.J.P. grants or subgrants, or other action, as appropriate.”

Context. Which you forgot to mention. The stock market no longer reflects main street. In so far as our domestic economy it means little. Obama's increases did not come from real growth. It came from Q.E., injecting huge amounts of money into the economy, but not the economy of main street.

After the panic of 07, the recession, when jobs came back they were not the jobs of the past, but low wage, part time service sector work, with many of the job creators having a business model that relied upon their workers getting food assistance, in order to supplement those low wage jobs. A business model relying upon taxpayers subsidizing their working poor wages. This is the legacy of Obama.
