Well, you could go start new thread number 183 claiming Trump is going to be impeached because of the Russians.

As for gloating of winning, there were at least 2o,ooo messages and 500 threads gloating and sneering how Hilary Clinton is going to obliterate Trump in the election.

Our gobby Remainers are still predicting hellfire and damnation when The UK exits the Farce. We Brexiteers aren't taking any notice of them though because they were also wrong in predicting the same Pandora's Box of calamities if we prevailed in the referendum, and it didn't happen. Why are there such sore losers these days? [IMG]

It is common for political forums to consist increasingly of 90% messages that are just low grade repeats of whatever the corporate media and press outlets tell people to think about at the time, with the two media allowed left v. right views on those topics. Partisans race to the forum to repeat this, and a few same members then absurdly sneer, sob and rant on behalf of the view the media/press tells them to rant about. 5. 10, 500 same messages will be posted and numerous identical threads. Or it can get extreme as it did with Trump-can't-win threads (probably hundreds) and Trump is going to get impeached (at least a couple dozen). Nearly all the remaining 10% are things so unusual that hardly anyone else cares. Messages with opinions outside of the 2 media/press declared opposed views points tend to be ignored and also enters dangerous territory in terms of rules and such. People who find their opinions are not allowed or are just ridiculed and never discussed or debated tend to not stay or participate much.

The ranters and trolls on both sides tend to stay, grow in number and grow in repetition. For example, trolls that post that Trump sucks and calls Trump supporters names on every thread regardless of the topic tend to drive people off. The same if coming from the other side. This evolves to two groups of opposed ranting partisan members posting the same smears and sneers back and forth at each other, like some private club, on virtually every thread and every topic.

This can come to seem like just the same messages day after week after month. That applies to basically all political forums and can become boring to people, but never to trolls and flamers. It is hard to look past that for the decreasing number of messages that are actually discussing and debating political topics when such repetitious partisan personal trolling and spamming messages that are nothing but name-calling become the majority.

200 threads and 25,000 messages of "The Russians! The Russians! the Russians!" and 200 threads and 25,000 "Trump is an idiot" with another 200 threads and 25,000 message of Trump can't win and Trump will be impeached is not of interest to everyone who instead is interested in discussing and debating politics.

Trump is an idiot and everyone who supports him is too isn't really a debating point, is it? Its just pointless ranting, flaming and generally in spammed messages repeated hundreds of times by the same member regardless of actual topic.

As for how HOT a forum can be in terms of going at each other, each forum is unique in that regards too. I like it somewhere in the middle. Anything-goes forums become absurd. Non-moderated forum are worthless unless someone just wants to scream hatred and obscenities at others. Trying to keep everyone within the lines of mainstream opinions and only with no personal interactions lacks emotion and serves no purpose as it is just usually poorly written repeats of what is on TV and in newspapers.

But those same latitude variations exist on basically all forums of any kind, unless it is a forum that openly (or covertly) is for advocating a certain position, agenda or product line. A person ranting against Fords won't last long on a Ford owners forum as example. Personal topics forums are widely varied as to what they allow. Some allow any sadistic bizarre fantasy messages, while others will not tolerate such messages. In any forum with rules, where the fine line of what is allowed and not can be very precise or very abstract. In my opinion rules should be very precise if they are going to be strictly enforced.

And this is precisely why the forum has less activity with each passing day. Who needs this kind of crap? Certainly not I.

In fact you'll be very lucky, and very happy, to be old. It's far better than I thought it would be. Those who never get to live a full life, which includes being old, have been cheated somehow by missing out on the perspective part of life.. All many got was the aggravation that comes with youth whereas with a few deacdes you can be genuinely free without anyone's permission or approval.

But you're a guy! It's different for a guy. Guys aren't judged on their appearances.

That's not entirely true but get your point. But we are often judged by the jobs we have and the money we make.

I drove a taxi a long while ago and attracted no women. Just a few days later I owned a hotel and was very popular. I am now financially independent and it is an attraction, for sure, and because of that I can now have the same concerns younger women may have about sincerity.

But the attractiveness of a woman doesn't necessarily relate to her appearance, if she looks after herself. It may be a laugh, intelligence, an attitude, anything that suggests there more to the person than what's being presented. And I know you know the same thing applies to men.

Okay, I'm not denying any of those things but getting older in appearance and body is still really not so great.

Yes and no. Probably less so than women, but I would still say everyone - to some extent - is going to be judged by their appearence as it is the first thing we notice about the people we meet.

I think women judge each other based on the way they look more than men judge each other based on looks. Society as a whole, however, is probably a little harsher on women when it comes to this, but as previous poster mentioned, men are probably more often judged based on success than women.

Men judge women's appearances MUCH more harshly than women judge a man's appearance.

Yes. Just whatbI said. But women also judge each other much more than men judge them. :)

I don't see how this negates what I said originally. Originally I said that women are judged on their appearances more so than men are, so I'm not getting your argument.

Yup and your argument is absolutely correct. I just felt I had to add to it, the fact that although men judge women's appearence more than vice versa, women judge other women much more harshly than men do. :p

Whenever a girl/woman (ages 14-65) post a picture on social media all of her friends have to comment how hot she is whereas she has to respond "not as hot as you", starting a never-ending spiral of arselicking. Additionally, I noriced from studying at a university department with majority females, that they constantly engage in the act of "backstabbing" friends and strangers with comments about how they look, dress and behave. ;)

Male "objectification" will be no longer than ten seconds long:
    "Oh my, she looks good."
    "Not as good as x."
    The end.

    Or:
"I do not like when women wear y like that."
    "Oh, really? I love it."
    The end. Lolz.

I have no idea how harsh women are when discussing men, but I know from experience that women can be pretty cruel against each other. Furthermore, it is important to remember that it is men who compete for females, giving females the final say in the "game of dating" and I am sure a good-looking woman who has plenty pf alternatives will judge the hell out of them because, afterall, she can afford it. :)

Sometimes, but most women are competitive and that is why. I don't think women feel that much pressure to impress other women though.

I mean, if a girl is considered ugly or fat or whatever, a lot of men won't even look at them, never mind talk to them or get to know them. Men don't know how to be satisfied with what they have sometimes either. They are always looking. Lol.

    I would not know. :p

As if a woman would look or talk to a fat/ugly guy. I agree with the last part though. Guys in happy and stable relationships will still look at other women. Most of the time their partner does not even notice this. :p
