Do you want your 5 year old attending class with 15 year olds?

That would be compelling interest. What is the compelling interest for gay discrimination? How do you even enforce it? Is there a test? Lol

You're jumping ahead of yourself. First we have to establish that you agree to certain types of discrimination. The last attempt received a "nope" response from you. Am I now to understand that you do accept certain types of discrimination?

Of course. Let me clarify. The state may discriminate with compelling interest. I thought that was obvious to you

What is the compelling interest of an all girls school?

You are justifying bigotry, which is unAmerican.

I sent my daughter to a Catholic school, but I wasn't expecting a hand-out from my fellow taxpayers for my decision.

I have no idea. I am not defending them. Let's do away with them. Do you only ask questions and not answer them

That is why it is called SCHOOL CHOICE, not parent choice.

There are certainly limits to what a school can possibly provide.

I don't see any way to extend that to questions of race or to LGBT issues.

I'm not done trying to get consistent thought out of you. Let's go back a step.

You said that there was a compelling interest to bar a 15 year old from a class intended for 5 year olds. What is that compelling interest?

I am loathe to believe that what I cannot see cannot possibly exist. I was trying to lead Vegas down the path to understand a case in which a LGBT issue does arise. Vegas did not appear to want to remain consistent. Do you believe that gender based schools are appropriate? Is there a valid reason why a girl may seek education in an environment free from male peer interaction, or vice versa? What is that reason?

Shall I pose my answer in the form of slam poetry? How about interpretive dance? LOL Remember we don't have to answer questions here directly. So there is my answer. LOL

Instead of trying to lead why not honestly answer a question when asked like I did for you?

I answered your question. You asked if schools should be allowed to discriminate. I said yes. You said nope. The next step is to understand why you believe what you do. If you're unwilling to discuss this then you're the one that's done. Not me.

    No. You then asked

Do you want your 5 year old attending class with 15 year olds?

    Which I answered completely

    Then I asked

What is the compelling interest for gay discrimination? How do you even enforce it? Is there a test?

And you refused to answer it.

Why do you refuse to debate honestly?

At no point did I refuse to answer your question. I asked you questions that will guide and inform your understanding of the answer I intend to give. First I have to establish that you accept forms of discrimination, which you seem quite wishy washy on. First, you rejected them outright, and then you ceded at least in concept. How far does that concession extend? I don't know, because now you're in game playing mode.

You refuse to answer my question directly because you do not like how the answer makes you look. I got it. It happens all the time. Some people want to steer the debate away from things that make them look bad. But how it works is you ask a question....I answer it ...and I ask a question ....and you answer it. Unless you are absolutley terrified of how the answer will make you look. And I think everyone on here can see that now.

One of my daughters went to a Catholic high school, too. It was a school not associated with a specific Catholic church, so tuition was the same as other private schools here in Seattle - about $20K/year at the time.

And, I certainly didn't expect a hand out for that.

The school does have programs for helping those kids whose parents aren't wealthy - funded by donations to the school. I didn't qualify for that, but I wouldn't have sent my daughter there if there wasn't financial diversity among the kids.

No. The fake Christian right are predators who utilize religion to justify their right-wing secular agenda. When the fake Christian right speak of religious freedom,
they mean the right to jam their immoral beliefs down the throats of others.
