Do Muslims seem to be, well, cowardly??

    Asymetrical Warfare isnt necessarily cowardice. Its a means for less industrialized militaries to fight more industrialized militaries.

    While it is most certainly cowardly on the part of the terrorists to attack civilians (especially when they seem to limit those attacks to regions and localities that restrict those civilians from carrying firearms), its no less cowardly on the part of our government to blow up markets and weddings with computer guided missiles.

    I would like to clarify that its not our troops that are cowardly- they're not the ones calling the shots, and indeed I've heard its common that they would prefer manned missions instead of these drone strikes, but are often overridden by 'command.'

    Personally, I think its impossible to talk sense to Muslims and convert them. In Mid East culture they only respect brute force.

    You need to have, uh, er, faith (did I just say that?). What I mean is have more belief that Muslims will reform or leave Islam. Here are some groups of ex-Muslims:

    Sure, there are some. But out of a billion followers they are likely a drop in the bucket. I would rather focus on people I can change.

    Sadly you do seem to be right about respecting brute force. That's why dictators like Saddam last so long in Muslim countries - the loving, thinking, intelligent, intellectuals don't lead Muslims in democracies, it's often the violent barbarians who threaten to torture them, such as Qaddafi, etc.

    Exactly. Their culture is all backwards. its sad. But I do have to admit that Turkey is the best of the Islamic countries. Iranians tend to be better than Arabs too.

    Some perspective on the issue- There is no concept of 'Peace' with non-Muslims within the Islamic orthodoxy. The word itself 'Salaam' is just the drawn-out pronunciation of 'Islam.' 'Salaam' (and thusly Islam) literally means 'submission.' Islam *is* the Religion of Submission to Allah; the only 'Peace' that can exist. This is what is meant by 'Islam is The Religion of Peace.'

    Everything within Islam is 'The house of Peace.' Everything outside is 'The house of War.'

    War, for Islam, has no rules. It is conquer (convert) by any means necessary. Those who convert are brought into the 'House of Peace' and afforded the rights, privaledges, Laws, Peace of Islam. Those who do not convert stay in the 'House of War' where anything goes.

    And, as always, so as to avoid the innevitable AdHom- no, not all muslims believe thusly. This is the Islamic Orthodoxy. There are plenty of 'heretics' who prefer to coexist and tolerate other religions. But they are not the 'mainstream,' they do not have an influencial voice, and their numbers are shrinking now.

    The Vietnamese didn't have any capability to attack the US but you killed their civilians in large numbers.
    The Nazi didn't have any capability to attack the US mainland significantly but you killed their civilians in large numbers.
    The Japanese didn't have any capability to attack the US mainland significantly but you killed their civilians in large numbers.

    Since you define cowards as those who deliberately attack civilians, the US armed forces must be yellow as canaries.

    You're confused between "cowardly" and "just plain stupid"!
    It would be "just plain stupid" to try to confront people, in person, who believe that they get 72 virgins if they avenge Allah by killing critics of Allah. Their role model killed critics, so they feel good about doing it to:

    If they did, it wouldn't be an act of war. It would be a statement only and exactly what is is, an embargo. An act of war is an invasion or an direct attack on a nations soil whether it be through espionage or direct physical attack.
