Neither my wife nor I ever used an absentee ballot, so we're both unfamiliar with them. But it seems one would have to register somewhere as a legitimate voter in order to have the absentee ballot mailed to you, right? Somewhere in the process, one would have to prove they are a legitimate citizen and eligible to vote. Otherwise, utter mayhem would result with every election.

 

It's California, if they're against a voter ID then it stands to reason they're against proving who you are when you register.

Prior to the absentee ballot, I still had registered. The form to this day only asks you to state under penalty of perjury to being a citizen. They wanted to see proof of address, perhaps a utility bill. Today no proof was asked for.

That happened far too long ago for me to recall details. For years I did not question CA voting.

To this day, swear you are a citizen and you are home free. I asked at the recorders office how they verify this. They said they do not.

 

Oh man, this is a tough one. Let me see here, millions of illegals or anyone else running around who are able to get registered to vote, or the Russians. Which one more likely impacted an election, any election? I'll be up all night with this one.

 

But, no illegals would ever try to take advantage of that, and vote in our elections...right?

Well you have to be an U.S. citizen to be commissioned an officer in the U.S. military.

The U.S. Army has always had non citizen immigrants who served especially during the 19th Century.

Before the American Civil War U.S. Navy enlisted ship crews were made up of a large number of foreigners, mostly British subjects.

The CSS Alabama crew, probably the most famous raider ship in history were all British subjects except for the officers, Chief Petty Officers and the Marines on board who were all American citizens.

The only American military service that didn't allow non citizens to serve were the U.S. Marine Corps. Before 1948 only U.S. citizens could serve in the Marine Corps.

20,000 Canadians enlisted in the U.S. military during the Vietnam War without immigrant status. . 134 were killed. Or you could say for every five liberal draft dodgers who fled to Canada, one Canadian took their place.

There's a list of foreign nationals who can enlist in the U.S. military without having immigrant status and a green car. Canadians, Brits, Aussies, Kiwis, Germans, etc.

There's a list of foreign nationals who aren't allowed to enlist unless they have immigrant status and a green card like Mexicans.

Probably the most infamous all immigrant non citizen U.S. military units in America's history was the St. Patrick's Brigade during the Mexican-American War.

May explain why no Catholic was elected POTUS until 114 years later in 1960. Catholics who put the Pope above country was the belief.

 

I've never once in the past 44 years in California ever had to show ID to register to vote and never at the polls on voting day.

Anybody in California can register to vote and vote. That's the way the Democrats want it.
