Even those very few people who might not have figured it out by age 18, will figure it out at some point - without anyone spelling it out for them. Like I said, ants manage. You sell humanity pretty short if you're suggesting we're stupider than ants.

Most likely north of 99% if sex is done, not for procreation. As I recently posted, most couples today limit their children size to 2.
2 out of how much sex, will be more than 99% of sex is not for procreation.
Unless one is from Texan and republican, I guess.

And to non christians, there are no sins. Just secular laws. And in a secular gov't, what christians think are sins are not taken into consideration.

Yes, their families teach them about life and society. School teaches them history and the basics of culture. Two VERY different things.

A lot of kids will figure it out without any help from schools. A lot of kids do, obviously. You did, I did. Half the world doesn't get taught that stuff but manages just fine. And it's most definitely NOT basic education, it's commenting on things outside of academics.

Telling is what schools do on academics. They have no business commenting on more.

And yet, since sex ed began being taught in school, teen pregnancy rates have steadily declined ... gosh, wonder why ... wondering, wondering ... do you have any clues? Sex ed? Taught in school? Teen pregnancy steady declined? Hints?

Oh dear .. another one who thinks the western model has all the answers. News flash, the countries with some of the lowest rates of teen pregnancy (much lower than the US) don't teach sex ed at all. And some of them aren't even religious. Ouch!

Which is comparing apples and oranges. I was comparing the US teen pregnancy rates (apples) before sex ed to the US pregnancy rates AFTER sex ed (also apples). Other countries don't have the puritan background of NOT talking about sex at home as much as the US does.

Actually, that's entirely incorrect. They do have 'puritan' backgrounds, some even more so than America.

Actually all humans are apples, or oranges. We all have the same urges, regardless of culture/country. Why do you think that Americans are so different that they can't figure this stuff out?

Maybe if you put it in quotes it doesn't count?

Hell, 20% of Americans think Bigfoot is real and that fortune-telling is a real thing ... and you're asking me if a number of Americans can't figure things out?

I don't remember the name of the show but I watched the episode and saw it. My wife gets christian news alerts on her phone on facebook and that is how I found out about it. You could do a google search and find it.

My point still stands. This stuff does not need to be taught to little kids.

I don't think it is a sin. I KNOW it is because of the Bible which I believe in 100%. I don't hate gay people but I will not support their sin.

How has teen pregnancy been declining? Do you have proof of this?

It's just that your throw-away comment 'Much ado about nothing.' suggests that you're supportive of the topic at hand. No accusations being made, and no offence meant.

If this happened 20 years ago, it would have been relevant. This is so minor, on the scale of way too early sexual discussions, I'm truly amazed this has you in a huff.

Apart from believing in the bible that more or less sums up my sentiments on the subject. I just wish they wouldn't insist upon flaunting their proclivity because probably much to their disbelief, not everyone celebrates it. I mean, I don't keep flaunting my heterosexuality, not least because I wouldn't have thought anyone would be the least bit interested in it. [IMG]

You don't have to support it, all that matters is you do not prohibit others from practicing and supporting it.

Well, I don't support your belief in a book, but I'm not going to try and pass laws against your reading it or going to church to celebrate it. Gay people are only asking for the same consideration. If you can't do that, then try to change the Constitution ... good luck with that.
