Do have any evidence for this whatsoever? Silencers aren't the mouse quiet things Hollywood would have you to believe. "Silencers" are louder than a rock concert. If you can't hear a rock concert then you need to get your hearing checked.
If there's no advantage then we are we banning them? There's no advantage to pimping out your car but its still legal.
There is not one factually based argument to support the level of control suppressors are subjected to. In Europe suppressors are MANDATED to reduce noise pollution at shooting ranges, and required for hunters. They do not "silence" firearms nor do they in any way contribute to crime or violence. Frankly, I think the entire NFA of 1934 should be repealed, but that's just me.
If you want gun control so badly, then you move yourself to a nation that has the laws you want. I intend to fight for the rights you seek to infringe. This is MY country and MY rights, and there is no place for someone like you here.
It's my country too. I served to defend your right to speak your mind......and I will surely speak mine
IF you served then I will thank you for your service. However, when your "speaking your mind" is to advocate for unconstitutional restrictions upon my rights then you betray everything you swore to uphold and defend... and I have every right to tell you that.
I said nothing about patriotism, and yes I took the oath to uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC. When you advocate for an attack on the Constitution you violate your oath to defend the Constitution, and I don't care if you find that fact unpleasant to contemplate.
this is why no one who actually understands the second amendment issues takes your posts seriously. You constantly prove and signal that you don't have any honest positions on gun issues and you really have no serious interest in a reasoned discussion on gun laws
I haven't heard of a European nation where they're mandated. Although they are unregulated here in Norway, but there's different rules for different nations. Think the Czechs are pretty strict on them, even though they have pretty good gun laws compared to the rest of Europe.
It seems that silencers were originally developed for military purposes but now are being used for criminal purposes even terrorism. They even play a role in indoctrinating children in pro-gun ideology and turning them into the next generation of gun consumers. "In the decades that followed, silencers were used by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II for clandestine missions. Silenced handguns were also used in Vietnam for multiple purposes. According to a former Special Forces NCO, military units used suppressed pistols 'for all sorts of sneaky ops, from dumping guards to out and out assassinations.'2 "In 1967, a new generation of silencers was developed by Mitch WerBell for Sionics, a company that specialized in counterinsurgency equipment. The acronym Sionics stood for Studies in Operational Negation of Insurgency and Counter Subversion. The company supplied silencers and similar items for covert operations by military and 'CIA-type' clandestine organizations.3.... "In January 2016, Samy Mohamed Hamzeh was arrested and charged after acquiring automatic firearms and a silencer in furtherance of a terror plot to commit a mass shooting at a Masonic Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. According to the FBI, Hamzeh explained, 'We want two machineguns, you now have one, so we want two more, and we need three silencers, that’s it. Find out how much all together these will cost, then we will march...each one has a weapon, each one has a silencer gun, the operation will be one hundred percent successful. I am telling you, to go without silencer gun, you will be exposed from the beginning.' [emphasis added] Hamzeh’s goal was to kill at least 30 people believing this would inspire other terror attacks in the United States, or in his words, 'I am telling you, if this hit is executed, it will be known all over the world...all the Mujahedeen will be talking and they will be proud of us...such operations will increase in America, when they hear about it. The people will be scared and the operations will increase...This way we will be igniting it. I mean we are marching at the front of the war.'16... "Dorner murdered four people and wounded several others and used silencers to help accomplish his deadly mission. According to a Police Foundation analysis of the attacks, Dorner killed Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence in a 'gang-style hit' while they sat in their car in a parking structure. "Police were initially puzzled as to why no neighbors heard the 14 shots that were fired from a semiautomatic handgun. They later learned that Dorner had used a silencer on his 9mm Glock pistol. In the course of the manhunt, Dorner fired 29 shots at officers in a patrol car using an AR-15 assault rifle equipped with a silencer 'to keep them from hearing the shots before they were hit.' When police finally tracked Dorner to a mountain cabin, Dorner fired at law enforcement with a silencer-equipped assault rifle, making it more difficult for responding officers to pinpoint the origin of the gunfire. Dorner had acquired the silencers in Nevada using a “gun trust” to evade the restrictions of the National Firearms Act.22.... It seems that silencers were originally developed for military purposes but now being used for criminal purposes even terrorism. They also play a role in turning children in indoctrinating children in pro-gun ideology and turning them into the next generation of gun consumers. "On the morning of January 27, 2011, concealed carry permit holder Mark Langlois fatally shot 65-year-old Jim Schueler, Jr. as he sat eating his breakfast in his office at Forklifts of Toledo in Ohio where the two worked. Schueler was shot with a 9mm handgun at point-blank range. No one at the facility heard the gunshot and Schueler’s co-workers originally assumed he had died of a heart attack. Police later surmised that the killer had used a silencer. Police determined that Langlois, who was convicted of murder, had legally registered multiple silencers with ATF.25.... "And as Donald Trump Jr. acknowledged to SilencerCo CEO Joshua Waldron, one benefit of silencers was 'getting little kids into the game, it greatly reduces recoil.'.... "Silencers can also create the impression that gunfire is coming from the opposite direction which could create a significant hazard for law enforcement and other first responders.... "In a civilian context, these 'benefits' could help enable mass shooters and other murderers to kill a greater number of victims more efficiently." silencers.pdf
You do realize that a suppressor on a 9mm handgun still has a firing report of over 130 dB, which is as loud as a rock concert, and that a suppressor on a long gun is (a) louder still and (b) does nothing to reduce the sonic boom of the supersonic bullet, right? You probably don't know that once fired a suppressor is too hot to handle for some time, preventing a user from immediately concealing it.
Throughout this thread you've demonstrated you know absolututly nothing about suppressors. Your Googling and choice of selected content continues to demonstrate that. I particularly like the comment that It's about as stupid as you can get, likely to have been made by another clueless gun banner. many here I am sure could tell you why it's a stupid comment, but you could figure it yourself I you knew anything about AR's. But go on, continue your demonstration. BTW, if you know where I could find one of those magic Hollywood scilencers, I would be appreciative... I'd happily pay the tax for one.
