http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/03/asia/north-korea-missile-japan-waters/index.html I just had this funny feeling this Korean idiot would use our 4th of July weekend to ratchet this into the red zone. Here's the proof.
Will China apply any pressure to N Korea before they get the OK from the US about their "land reclamation " in the South China Sea?
There's a lot going on in the East China Sea, China is a frenemy, they are not going to sort North Korea out the North Korean threat suits them perfectly. Why remove obstacles for the enemy (US/Japan). http://www.cnbc.com/2017/04/04/world-war-iii-nightmare-scenario-brewing-in-the-east-china-sea.html
This is truly a serious dilemma for any president, but even more so considering this is the equivalent of handing Trump an advanced quiz on trigonometry. I have no faith in him having the wisdom to navigate this treacherous development.
The missile made it to the Sea of Japan, anyway. I'm juth tho thscared....Anyway it should keep Republicans tossing and turning in their sleep, often whimpering, while during the day they figure out a way to sell another ill-conceived, needless, trillion-dollar war to the public.
There is indeed no denying that this does present them an opportunity to exploit the situation (Iraq?)....but the issue still remains....how do we thwart them from perfecting their ICBM technology?
The key to answering that question with a peaceful solution is China. Tillerson and Mattis have been talking to the Chinese. Let's hope ...
I remember when liberal hero, bill Clinton sent them nuclear tech, and when they found out they were had, and they turned it into weapons, leftist gave him a total pass. Now the left acts all worried nk missle test and war with nk. 0 credibility
Are you referring to the 1994 Agreed Framework? >>The objective of the agreement was the freezing and replacement of North Korea's indigenous nuclear power plant program with more nuclear proliferation resistant light water reactor power plants, and the step-by-step normalization of relations between the U.S. and the DPRK. Implementation of the agreement was troubled from the start, but its key elements were being implemented until it effectively broke down in 2003.<< If you're going to be using half-assed historical references to support your partisan myopia, you could at the very least support your contentions with a citation....you know, FACTS!
"North Korea has just launched another missile. Does this guy have anything better to do with his life? " Says the pocket "president" who spends a good part of his time on vacation ignoring his White House duties.
Is that where this comes from? I keep wondering where these guys get this stuff, as if everyone knows what they're talking about, yet do not provide anything to back it up. I guess throwing these hand grenades is easier than admitting which right wing whacko put the idea in their head.
"On January 10, 2003, North Korea again announced its withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.[38] On February 10, 2005, North Korea finally declared that it had manufactured nuclear weapons as a "nuclear deterrent for self-defence".[39] On October 9, 2006, North Korea conducted a nuclear test. US intelligence agencies believe that North Korea has manufactured a handful of simple nuclear weapons." In other words, US Intelligence was correct. The North Koreans had lied to us and probably were lying at the time of the original agreement(if we note their improved capabilities today.) North Korea has continually violated its agreements, and its taken its steps to the next level. From the cautious "feed me world" stance they took to bide time, to an aggressive, confrontational approach with their ballistic missiles. We can either tolerate NK's behavior at our peril, or take it out. General MacArthur was correct about the need then, as "inhumane" as it would have been, there were no consensually agreed conceptions of war.
Going to war with North Korea is an automatic death sentence for thounds, possibly millions of South Koreans, our allies. FYI, Gen MacArthur also made a big mistake with the Chinese involvement. I suggest we double up on the anti missile technology, it is the safest approach.
The question I never hear asked (on the news) is; who's actually paying for all these little missile-tests? (Although I think we can sort of scrap test's, these days. These rockets now run like clockwork.) I mean, surely NK doesn't have the money to pay for it themselves. So, some-one is being a secret sugar-daddy. And I don't per se mean for these ballistic missiles. I mean for NK's nuclear program. I'll bet you a large sum it's China. Obviously China has no interest in a united Korean peninsula but hey, using your dictatorial neighbor as nuclear testing tool is quite handy.
That's my point also; (Even more important.) That labour couldn't possibly consist solely out of North Koreans. No way do they have the people with the skills to develop nuclear weapons. (Or long range ballistic missiles.) So who is that labour? I'd say it's Chinese. It must be Chinese (nuclear) expertise that ''skips across the border to help out''. I'd think China is up to it's neck involved in NK's (nuclear) weapons-program. China controls it all. Which is why I, strangely enough, don't worry to much about NK suddenly launching nuclear weapons towards some enemy. China won't let it happen. They exploit the research but they have no (immediate) interest in actual warfare. I think China can put a stop to any NK weapons-testing any time they want. They are the (sole) supplier of men and money and machinery. IMO North-Korea would be nowhere, weapons-wise, without Chinese help. In that sense Kim Jong-un is, perhaps, just a puppet of the Chinese.
