Agatha layed her first egg yesterday morning. It's the greenish blue one. I told my wife that I'd let her sit on her baby for a little bit before we take it and eat it.

I live in zone 8. We plant early to avoid the summer heat. This time of year I am cleaning up the garden to get ready for my fall garden. My purple hull peas are done, sweet corn is done, and my other stuff like green beans are slowing down. Still got mellons coming on. As well as okra, peppers, and Crowder peas.

Congrats, the first eggs from your first chickens are always a joy. I think they taste better too. The older folks round here say they make better cakes and pastries.

    If it's red it's Christmasy. Unless it's a Communist.

That's why I only drink it once a year. And good cigars neutralize most toxic things.
Moonshine is too perfect for human consumption.

Let me think ... so red wine and green key lime pie would be Christmassy for you.

You would have loved Florida then !!

I don't pick up pretty young ladies at bars anymore like this girl in the video.

Those days are long gone now.

I only date ugly old ones these days.

In the dark they all look and feel the same anyway.

    :D

The sooner you take the egg away then the sooner she (the hen) will lay another.

Supposedly Ameraucana. I thought the eggs were supposed to be blue, but I don't see the blue in her eggs. I'm thinking maybe EE.

Chistmassy, yes, but the best key lime pie is not green. Green is only good for environmental whackos and Muslims. ;-)

Kicking it with the MD DeMolays at Conclave this weekend. Just play a mean set of dodgeball and kickball. After lunch human foosball and something called soaker vest. Laser tag tonight! All the kids are having a great time, and it's cool to see all this from the advisors side. Have been to Conclvae since '89

You could tell just by looking at her that 'poor Ma Kettle was born with a silver spoon in her mouth'. ;-)

Yes, I forgot about the Irish affinity for the green.
But Scotch Irish tend to do that - and I say shame on us for that! ;-)
