Progs only know what arrogance is. Consumer Confidence isn't in their vocabulary. They're too "smart" for that silly word.

I don't know about "from the day he was nominated", but consumer confidence took a huge leap when he was elected, and reached a 16-year high a couple of months ago.

Yup. Trump doesn't deserve credit for this any more than anyone could identify a specific Obama policy that had been implemented at this point in his Presidency that resulted in jobs. And according to the reports, the uptick was seen in hiring in bars and restaurants. So does that mean people are drinking more because Trump is now in office?

Trump hasn't implemented a single economic policy, yet. He may not implement any at this pace.

How many jobs were added in the same reporting period last year and does the fact that fewer jobs were added this year cut against your argument?

Its no different that the Trumps bragging about the numbers of illegals caught at the border and returned, yet for the same period both Obama and Bush did better.

Sure ... but you cheer the wrong person for it! This is all the result of the things brought on the way by Obama ... and it is impudent when righties cheer this Trainee in White House for it!
Sure, right now clear that you will refute this and tell otherwise, but facts stay facts even they are liked to be ignored by the Obama haters!

Trump lies to take credit for everything he hasn't accomplished. So far, he has been a total failure.

Is that why the Trump enjoys a 33% approval? Everyone must be flocking to his side.

Lol ... it is not my party and I am no US citizen ... and I am no Obama fan nor Hillary fan!
But as foreigner I have maybe not the Pink Trump glasses on my nose and see facts backed by official US reports which are even not denied by Trump himself.
Trump harvests here just only the seed of Obama and the stupid Trump fans celebrate this as a victory of Trump!

Except consumer confidence actually has improved and Trump actually has been trimming back regulations. Two things which impact business very much. But I fear I'm arguing business theory with people who have no business experience.

Consumer confidence was quite good during much of the Obama years. What regulations have been trimmed back and which ones of these have the greatest effect on the market?

I don't think "consumer" confidence has improved. I think investor confidence has improved.

Those looking for a corporate tax cut so they can further enrich themselves without creating any jobs (typical outcome as proven historically with republican tax schemes) are investing more because the POTUS is showing them he is willing to grease them up.

I don't hear anyone in line at the grocery store praising the POTUS for making milk more affordable.

Tens of millions of people went on government assistance under Obama and they didn't count unemployed, but able bodied people who weren't actively looking for a job. You can't get an accurate number that way. The DOW has broken its own record 48 or 49 times under Trump, no need to triple it. Great for the economy either way.

Tens of millions of people did NOT go on government assistance under Obama, but of those who did, much of it can be traced back to the Bush economic and housing disasters. Do you recall the unemployment numbers when Obama took office?

I gave Trump credit for the stock market and don't act like you didn't blame him for its fall just after the election. I gave him credit for that, too, because the market always falls right after an election. He's a successful businessman regardless of how you feel about him, and the stocks take that into account.

He's a worthless POTUS who has not kept his promises and lies like a damned rug.

    He's a terrible moron.

He is still CAMPAIGNING for cripe's sakes, while the republicans in the house and senate flounder unable to overcome their own fractured and odious ideological differences between moderates and inhumane freedom caucus morons.

Must be all that education we paid for... Ever heard the term, "So smart they're stupid"? Yeah...well. That's going off the assumption they're even smart since all us Trump supporters are uneducated by their standards.

Absolutely right! And don't expect to hear those words anytime soon. If anything, trump in his infinite stupidity wants to increase the price on milk. In trumps defective mind this is "making mexico pay for the wall" and "bringing jobs back to america". Oh sure, the milk producers are happy. Everyone else loses. I just can't fathom how any middle class american can support trumps idiotic, destructive positions on economy.

But you know that your consumer confidence was, is and will be always a temporary issue which can change drastic if something depending bad happens?
At the moment the consumer confidence is expressed only by an increase in the US internal market ... means: People buy and invest at the moment again more (with money what they have or do not have = by credit) and this certainly creates jobs.
But let it really pop at something bad again and then the trust is melted away faster than a snowball in "Death Valley"!
