You did not address it. You yielded to their BS, and if you think procedure churning isn't a problem in healthcare costs, then you really shouldn't be discussing the issue at all.

And is responsible for ~ 1% economic growth rate. Reforming the previous system would not have had any effect on the economy.

I've answered your question. Adding mandated coverages to health insurance increases the premium price. Simple to understand.

It would have been half as much and the reason it was the ER was because it was before sunrise, I was having muscle control issues and every freaking thing was spinning at 90 mph every time I moved even a little after 4 days of not being able to keep anything in me. Their response was, "Well why did you wait so long to come in in the first place?" Otherwise, I have very little recent medical history other than a broken arm ten years prior. They did do a ton of bloodwork as they were concerned by a tick bite about two weeks prior. I came back clean as a whistle, as did my wallet.

The fact that ObamaCare needs annual bailouts is proof that it is a failed policy which has done extensive economic damage.

ObamaCare in reality is nothing more than an expansion of Medicaid.

What are the D's doing to define and propose solutions for the failing ObamaCare health insurance failure ??

Really? So given that the growth rate of the second half of 2016 was 2.8%, and you say that Obamacare is responsible for 1% of that, it means that without Obamacare we would have been at trumpian numbers of around 1.8%

    Pretty good...

And, on top of that, so many lives were saved...

The rates were going up at a faster rate and insurers were pulling out of markets before Trump even announced his candidacy so you can't really blame him for that can You?

The individual markets are a mess because it was a very poorly written law. You can put that blame squarely on the democrats for that.

Actually, you can. Because Trump has chosen to not do anything about it. Trump isn't aware yet that he's the President.

Uhmmm... no. It was written, for the most part, by Republicans.

Started off with the " Health Equity and Access Reform Today" (HEART) HEART was written in 1993 and included among it's 20 Republican co-sponsors Senators Bob Dole, John Chafee, Orrin Hatch Chuck Grassley, Richard Lugar and many others. 2 Democratic Senators were also co-sponsors. It included, among other things, an individual mandate; creation of purchasing pools; standardized benefits; vouchers for the poor to buy insurance; a ban on denying coverage based on a pre-existing condition...

    Sound familiar?

Most modifications were taken from Mitt Romney's plan for Massachusetts. Very few modifications by Democrats made it to the final ACA. But many by Republicans did. For instance, most of the modifications that converted the original "purchasing pools" into the ACA Marketplace were proposed by the Heritage Foundation.

Bottom line: the reason why Republicans are unable to come up with a Healthcare plan is that Obamacare is the Republican healthcare plan.

But the undeniable fact is that it is a poorly written plan. And the reason for that is that Obama wanted to include Republicans. During his first term, Democrats could have easily passed a much much better plan, if they had wanted. But he wanted it to be bi-partisan. Which, in my opinion, was a bad idea. Because, in the end, after all the concessions, no Republican voted for it.. But that's how we got what we got.

Yeah... funny how he tried to make it bi-partisan. But it ended up being almost exclusively Republican. Which is funny because, not only did they not vote for their own plan, but they wasted 7 years trying to repeal it. And they couldn't come up with an alternative. Funny, but also very expensive for the country. This is the time in history when Republicans take over the "liberal" label. Given that now the GOP is the party that liberally spends your tax money.

Uh, actually, a lot of the pharmaceutical companies that you probably think of as America, are actually Swiss, German, French or British.

So because some Republicans voted on a plan that had a couple pieces similar to Obamacare it became a GOP plan? Even without a single GOP vote?

    That's very interesting.

States knew it was underfunded when they expanded medicaid. Let those states come up with the money to fund their own decision. After all, if they were responsible state governments, they would not let their state healthcare system fail by your own logic.

And all the true innovation in pharma comes out of the US. Europe actually pays a high total cost for it's "cost savings" price controls.

"Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy" - Schweitzer - Oxford Press - 2007

"Imbalanced Innovation: The High Cost of Europe's "Free Ride" " - Gilbert & Rosenburg - 2004

Buying across state lines means that the Federal Government forces Florida to accept the definition of "Health Insurance" that the state government of South Dakota decides to adopt. Whether the state government of Florida agrees with it or not

The state is left to pick up the pieces.

It is only logical and right that they have something to say that goes beyond picking up the pieces.

Remember that your version doesn't even give standing to the state in addressing issues that arise.

No, the payments I am referring to are an established part of the ACA.

It is true that there are also changes necessary to make the ACA work better, and that will require $, too.

The bottom line is that it is unprecedented jrresponsibility to allow a system such as our health care system to fail. And, the executive branch isn't just doing that - they are actually taking measures to make it fail.

Families will suffer serious harm from that assault on Americans.

Not because they "voted" or not, but because they wrote it. Remember what I'm responding to. You said (I'm quoting you) "The individual markets are a mess because it was a very poorly written law. You can put that blame squarely on the democrats for that."

The fact is that it was originally estimated it would take 5 years for the markets to "stabilize". A recent study shows that they are stabilizing now. If Trump doesn't torpedo it, that is

    http://www.benefitspro.com/2017/07/11/study-says-aca-market-is-stabilizing

I'm happy you found it useful.

I hear you on the wallet part.

I got a super high temp by getting too dehydrated when I was in Morocco a while back. I solved it myself, as I didn't want to test the local hc system.

It's quite surprising how little it takes to put a body in trouble.

I do not blame him for that.

I do blame him for assaulting the hc system we all depend on.

That really is criminal irresponsibility at best.
