President Donald Trump responded to the ongoing violence in Charlottesville, Virginia after leftist Antifa protesters attacked a protest of white nationalists.

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence on many sides, on many sides,” he stressed.

Trump described the protests in Charlottesville as “terrible” and “very very sad,” calling for peace and order. “This has been going on for a long, long time,” he said, referring to violent protests. “It has no place in America.”

“This has been going on for a long, long time,” he said, referring to the violent protests. “It has no place in America.”Trump thanked law enforcement for trying to restore peace to the city.

Trump thanked law enforcement officials for trying to restore peace to the city.

“Above all, we must remember this truth, no matter our color, creed, religion or political party, we are all Americans first,” he said.

Trump said that he spoke with Virginia governor Terry McAulliffe and said they agreed that the hate and division displayed in the city had to stop.

“We must love each other, respect each other and cherish our history and our future together,” Trump said. “So important.”

The president moved quickly to address the violence in Charlottesville, first sending a message on Twitter condemning the violence.

“We ALL must be united & condemn all that hate stands for,” he wrote. “There is no place for this kind of violence in America. Lets come together as one!” http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...ld-trump-calls-peace-condemns-violence-sides/ Trump is right. All violence is to be condemned. We need to come together as Americans on what unites us.

What's ironic about this is he's condemning the hardcore section of his devoted base.

He has plenty of supporters who don't want to see violence. Just an end to the racist BS from the left.

You wanted him to call out the violence of the Antifa? Or did you want him to blame only one side for the violence?

Obama never had a problem calling out groups by name, right? He must have used the term radical Islam about 4 million times.

Trump is too cowardly to actually call out the KKK and Nazis.

    soo pathetic

meanwhile he constantly condemned Obama for never using the terms "islamist extremists", "muslim extremists", etc.

It seems that some want to continue to divide and leave the country divided. Trump is trying to bring us together not trying to say whether the white nationalists or the Antifa were more guilty than the other for the violence. United We Stand!

Violence is wrong no matter who does it. Do you want Trump to show favoritism to people on the right just because they voted for him? What is wrong with someone being fair and attacking people from both sides who are being violent?

LOL The KKK is barely a group anymore. Trump had over 60 million votes and the KKK has hardly no members left.

So where is your proof the majority of Trump's base is KKK? I am not part of the KKK. You seriously need to stop posting crap like this.

The KKK are not what they used to be and their member base is rather low if you do your research. Should Trump call out every single group of people that commits violence or focus on the groups causing the most trouble right now?

The violence should be condemned. Nothing is gained by it and only furthers the divide. It doesn't matter who started it or what groups were involved, we should all stand together against it or more people will just end up hurt. This is the result of to many people putting party over politics and people and unless we change how we talk to and treat each other it will only continue.

I doubt anyone who continues with name calling and labeling others really want a positive change though. A divided nation is alright by them so long as it's their party in charge.

Violence is wrong no matter who is doing it. Groups of people are human beings. What is wrong with actually attacking violence as an evil in itself? Why must Trump single out a few people and attack them for it when the issue is far bigger than that. Millions of people commit violence and it needs to stop.

Trump did nothing wrong making light of the issue of violence.

Trump condemns all parties responsible for the violence today.
But that's not good enough for some people so f*** them!
And in reality, there is nothing he could ever say that would please them.

Those sick individuals aren't worth the effort it takes to care about their disturbed state of mind.

So when Trump does something like have a speech against violence all you can do is complain about him some more. Nobody is perfect. At Least Trump is making light of the issue.

Here we have someone actually attacking the issue of hatred, bigotry and violence and anti Trumpets still find excuses to attack him. Hating Trump will not solve any of these problems.

The left protests in the streets. The right protests. Everybody is angry and wants to show it through violence. When will it ever end?
