The TIGER program also put new regulations in place that made cities implement protected bike lanes and cycling paths in D.C. and other parts of the country.

The Transportation Department under the Obama administration also issued a ruling that defined traffic as “people who move on roads” instead of just vehicles.

From what we have seen, it appears that he would get an award if they gave one for the most petty ever. He stands for nothing.

 

Maybe you ignore the fact that it was accessible to folks within The White House. And even if they chose not to use the bikes, it was not costing anything to promote the use of transportation that is energy efficient. Trump's administration hasn't care to advocate for clean anything so no surprises here.

The country is in chaos, North Korea is a mess, we have missing sailors and our naval vessels colliding into each other, investigations all over the place, no replacement for the ACA, his poll numbers in the toilet, his party turning against him....and he's thinking about a Bikeshare station? And ordering its removal? Wut?

I know the guy's entire term is going to be based on "undoing what Obama did", and EOs undoing Obama actions are what he considers winning and "achievements", but seriously? This just strikes me as petty, and it really strikes me as odd considering all the man should be worrying about.

 

And I'm surprised that his pettiness surprises you. Being petty is so much a part of what and who he is. His vindictiveness and self-absorption all stem from that character flaw of extreme pettiness.

 

How is the "general public" riding free bikes inside the friggin security perimeter is a better question.

I guess it shouldn't surprise me after all this time. He is a very petty man and all he has to think is "This was Obama's idea" and then out something goes. His base eats that **** up, too, because I'm sure they want all reminders of the skinny black man gone too.

I am shaking my head at this story. Why would they do this? It's stupid. And the money was spent years ago so it's not like it was costing anything to maintain it. It's a freaking Bikeshare station. What's so offensive about it?

 

This program has become enormously successful in NYC and Brooklyn. Seeing the bike stations as now a normal part of the cityscape is actually very cool as they symbolize more and more people participating in awareness of the environmental impact of too much traffic and the importance of physical activity. It is the contrary of being offensive.

 

I've seen the Bikeshare in NYC. I won't use a bike when I'm dressed in a suit for a meeting, but if I wasn't dressed up I'd be all over it!

 

Do you see members of the general public riding bikes inside the WH security perimeter becoming enormously successful?
