Remind me what other groups are living with arab muslims with sovereign, equal rights in an arab muslim country? There are reasons why they cannot get along with anyone else.

Now had they worked along lines like PICA and worked with the Palestinians increasing their well being as well, including them, then some kind of Jewish home I think would have been well respected. There was no problem with antisemitism then, they liked the new Jewish immigrants. During the early period zionists were denying they were wanting a State and claiming it was just going to be some kind of cultural home. This could have worked. It could have worked because it was something that both could have benefited from.

However after the Balfour Declaration European Jews arrived who had no problems telling the Arabs they were after their homeland. They wanted an ethnic Nationalist state just like other Europeans had been creating. They did not want Arabs anywhere near them and even complained that some of their taxes went to help the arabs. They wanted to create a State in someone else's homeland and they did not want the indigenous population around them. They also did not want democracy in Palestine as they knew if that was so they could not get what they wanted their ethnic Nationalist State. Obviously ethnic nationalist States one want one ethnicity, which they believe to be superior.

Before this Muslims, Christians and Jews in the main lived peacefully together throughout the ME. Irony what that the ME was one of the least sectarian areas around until Europeans and I definitely am including the British and French took over.

So that is what you have. Europeans up to their old tricks of Colonialism and Imperialism in another people's land.

I don't know where you get your info, but Israel is still being attacked by Palestinians, etc. Years ago and today. They and most others
think that Iran is responsible for much unrest in the Middle East, and I don't blame them for their interest in Saudi Arabia, or any other state that has the capability to challenge Iran.

My information comes from about 30 years of following the conflict and speaking to people living in the region and from all sides. 1. Israel is the 4th strongest military in the world with hi-tech weaponry and $billions worth of heavy equipment, an army, navy and airforce.

The Palestinians have kitchen knives , sometimes cars and that's it. Oh and homemade lo tech rockets from Gaza every so often so that the world doesn't forget the inhuman ,medieval siege that Israel has on the strip for the last 10 years. Almost 2 million Gazans in one of the worlds biggest open air prisons.

2. Israel as complete power over a whole population. They can do whatever they wish to the people they occupy, from demolishing their homes, colleges and schools,
allowing rabid settlers to take over their homes, burn their crops and attack their children, murder them in their homes, while the IOF stands by and protects the settlers,
making them homeless,
limiting and disrupting their worship in both churches and mosques,
disrupting water and electricity supplies to villages near illegal settlements
murder and assassination without trial. to name but a few things they inflict on a largely unarmed and defenceless people.

Don't forget that as a people under Belligerent Occupation the Palestinians are allowed to protect themselves and fight back if they had the means

Israel is breaking every rule of the Geneva conventions and rules of decency.

The biggest cause of unrest is the region is Israel, the US and Saudi Arabia. The new axis of evil.

The ordinary Palestinians are some of the most hospitable people you could meet. Despite their miserable lives they are unendingly cheerful and welcoming. It is a tiny minority of freedom fighters who attack Israel , which they are entitled to do but Israel is the aggressor. On Sunday, a Palestinian youth died of injuries he suffered last month when Israeli soldiers shot him seven times at point blank range after breaking into his home in a pre-dawn raid.

He is the latest victim of habitual Israeli raids on Dheisheh refugee camp near Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.

A resident told The Electronic Intifada that in recent months Israeli forces have raided the camp almost every night.

Raed al-Salhi, 22, was snatched by undercover soldiers from his bed on 9 August, assaulted, shot and dragged for half an hour through the alleyways of the camp, according to Israeli daily Haaretz.

The raid was carried out by undercover agents of the Duvdevan unit who frequently disguise themselves as Palestinian civilians – so-called mistaravim.

Soldiers took al-Salhi to Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem, where he was placed under arrest even as he slipped into a coma. He remained unconscious in the intensive care unit until he died on 3 September.

None of his family members were allowed to visit him and he remained under heavy guard despite his critical condition, the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency reported.

Israeli forces also shot another man, Aziz Arafeh, in the leg, during the same raid, according to Ma’an.

Arafeh was reportedly shackled to his hospital bed for weeks after he was shot.

In a mockery of a judicial process, Arafeh was at one point brought before a military tribunal in a hospital bed.

A week after the raid, Israeli forces seized al-Salhi’s brother, Bassam, during another invasion of the camp, Ma’an reported.

Al-Salhi’s detention “was extended on several occasions by the Ofer military court under the pretext of ‘completing interrogation’ despite the fact that he was held in critical condition, unconscious and dependent on a ventilator,” reported Palestinian prisoner advocacy network Samidoun."

 

I would like to hear the other side of the story. We are
