I am a liberal democrat who voted for Bernie Sanders in the primary and Hillary Clinton in the general election. While I disagreed on a number of issues with Hillary, I determined that Trump lacked the moral fiber, knowledge, and mental capacity to be a successful President. Between the two candidates, I felt Hillary was far better qualified and the better overall choice for the nation's well being and future. Trump's first nine months in office have convinced me beyond any doubt I made the right choice. I'm deeply troubled and genuinely concerned for America and Americans as well as the whole world for the duration of the Trump administration as well as afterward--in respect to many issues.

Ok, so you're someone who thought a wall street elitist who was caught lying to congress on numerous occasions, was so ****ing stupid she setup her own network that was compromised and THEN proceeded to delete 30K emails worth of evidence while repeatedly lying about it....who told victims families of terrorist attacks that their children died because of a youtube movie, someone who claims to "dodge sniper fire", and repeatedly ignored the cries for help in Libya...should be President?. She's also the same person who organized and helped fund the Arab spring, which as you know, was one of the US' most gross failures. The same woman who just 15 years ago was against gay marriage and had a southern accent.

I'm glad you feel good about yourself for voting for Hillary Clinton. It shows what kind of person you are.

I understand your concerns but he was elected the President. I agree he is thin skinned and retaliates were it is unnecessary. It was the way his dad raised him "take no prisoners". Some of the things he says are meant to be reactionary and shake up the status quo. The last I looked our relationship with Russia was on the low end. He has placed sanctions on Russia and challenged them in Syria. Not the making of a great partnership. Our military is at a low state of readiness. After eight years of sequester and Obamas dismantling of our defense Trump is asking for money to rebuild our forces and equipment. He also is putting people in place to cut bloat and inefficiency throughout all the departments and that includes State.

I have no defense for his moral behavior but it was known before the people voted. Just like Clinton; they didn't see it as an issue. I don't know what freedoms your worried about losing. The only real effect I see that Trump has had on our government is showing just how ineffective it has been. The gridlock is still there even though we have a President willing to sign bills passed by Congress that fix healthcare, immigration, taxes, and return power back to Congress and the states.
I find it a little disingenuous to blame Trump about our youth. You turn on your TV and most shows are about violence and sex. Hollywood hollers the most about the 2nd Amendment but produce all the violent crap on TV and the movies. Our colleges which are suppose to bastions of free thought and exchange of ideas are battlefields to try and shut down free speech. You sir should really worry about the threat to are 1st Amendment . I worry about the infringement that is going on in the filtering of speech on the internet.

I see movement from the international community on North Korea that is the result of Trump. I see movement on the renegotiation of NAFTA that will be more fair for all. Trumps assistance to Iraq has ISIS on the run. That can't be a bad thing. The UN has been shook up and I think Nikki Hailey is about as good as they get. I also believe, but yet to be seen, how his dealing with Iran will turn out.

I have more trust in Trump to restore the principles and uphold the Constitution than most any Republican or Democrat on the hill.

Have enjoyed your banter and thoughtful posts.

First, let me say I had two choices for my vote in 2016. I supported Bernie during the primaries, but Hillary was nominated. Yes, Hillary has faults, and I had concerns about her, but during the campaign Trump's arrogance, propensity for lying, his alarming lack of knowledge about anything outside his own specialty in business, his proclivity toward violence, his strong racist overtones, his disrespect for women sexually, his bullying behaviors, and the accumulating signs that Trump suffered some form of mental illness, all combined to make Trump unacceptable for my vote. I was uncomfortable with aspects of Hillary too, but those paled in comparison with what I found in Trump. From my perspective, Hillary was the only reasonable choice. This first nine months of Trump's Presidency has only strengthened my conviction that I made the right choice.

If this is reasonable to you, then Trump supporters are not the crazy ones.

And don't give me this bullshit about you only having two choices. I voted for the guy who didn't know what Aleppo was. This doesn't need to be a two party nation. But with people like you who "settle" for one or the other, you'll keep getting this.

I hope one day you realize your actions are making things worse.

Until you realize this, keep thinking "Hillary was reasonable".

It wasn’t Trump who placed sanctions on Russia. He opposed that action, but was convinced by his immediate advisors to comply with them after Congress passed them overwhelmingly. Trump is blind to any malfeasance on the part of Russia or Putin.

This is inaccurate. During the Obama years the military was kept at peak potential, both in weaponry and readiness. The reports you’re citing were created as campaign propaganda by the Republicans, and were false.

There’s a difference between cutting inefficiency and dismantling the ability of a department to function. Trump has done the latter. We have over 40 ambassadorships vacant, and hundreds of professional personnel with valuable specialized skills with a lifetime of service to government no matter which party was in power, let go. Trump isn’t cutting inefficiency in the State department, he’s disempowering it altogether. And, the State Dept is our best hope for world peace—not Trump himself.

    More to come. . .

There is no such thing as a "partial suicide". That is where your "intellectual process" fails you. Better to let your heart lead, and your mind follow, than the other way around.

Regarding your response from Mendelson, it is as barbaric and repulsive as the mindset that led to Auschwitz, not the mindset that led to Masada.

Regarding the OP, only Biden possesses a measure of respectability, IMO, but his affiliation with the Democratic Party undercuts it immensely. Advantage Trump.

I agree with you that having more than two functional and electable parties in America would be a good thing, I also know that no third party has won the White House in my lifetime, and fewer than I can count with the fingers on my hand have been elected to Congress. I liked the candidates for both the Socialist Party and the Green Party, and would have felt good personally voting for either, but I felt if I did, I might help Trump get elected, and that was a nightmare I fervently hoped to avoid having to cope with. Little did I know. . .

I nominate Alan Keys. I figure he is the lessor war mongers of the rest of them. I wrote him in about 12 years ago.

Listen to this man and see if he is not the best one for the job although he would be taken out one way or the other if he was elected, but if he could get in and survive he would be great.IMO.

I think that President Trump will even gain seats in 2020.

No particularly impressive candidate has emerged against him so far.

I voted for Alan Keyes way back when in the Republican primary when he ran for president. I've since learned that while he sounds great, when you write his words down on paper (or monitor), they don't scan well. I think Keyes got exactly two votes in this county, mine and my father's.

As for my nominations for leader of the Democrats, I suggest Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Al Gore, Joe Biden, John Kerry, Michael Dukakis, or any one of a dozen other proven disasters. Hell, Walter Mondale is still alive, get him. He managed to win just 13 electoral votes in the 1984 election against Reagan, he's perfect.

Here is the summary from the author himself:

........ "If you take the indigenous sacred books of almost everybody in the Holy Land (the Qur'an & the Bible's Old & New Testaments) and put them together, what you get is One Nation with two sub-states that correspond with the pre-1967 war borders, with the exception of Jerusalem, which isn't divided, but instead serves as united capital of the entire country. That's it in a nutshell."(R. M.)
