Unlike the President, most Americans know NFL kneelers aren't protesting the flag

You have to be STAGGERINGLY IGNORANT (and/or racist) to actually believe football players are not kneeling in protest of the flag and the country that has given those so much.

I stand corrected on the standing part. The NFL inadvertently left that loophole and probably didn't give it second thought. When they lose 10-20% of ticket sale and TV revenues watch how fast they can edit. (and maybe watch how fast a commissioner can be replaced.)
There are tons of work rules that the players union has no say in, you know like when the coach can take a guy out of the game, ad infinitum.

If they're NOT protesting the flag, why kneel? You can make statements after the game. You can speak out any other time. Start foundations, ect....some have. But if they're protesting their horrible plight in this country, try NOT PLAYING and shutting the league down!!!! Then your protest has some teeth.

SCOTUS was ruling on 1st amendment rights in a public or government venue, not in a private venue like a business (like a NFL team) or your home where there are very very few 1st amendment rights.
It is highly unlikely that SCOTOS ruled on respect or disrespect -- nothing to do with law.
