and I have no issue with Christmas decoration on public property, just leave out the religious propaganda, people can put that on their own properties

 

I repeat: I'm against using taxpayer-funded property to promote one religion over any other. It is a fairly standard position. Either have it as a space that anyone can use or do not use it to promote any religion at all. Just don't play favorites.

Demographics do nothing to change that. You don't need government subsidies to practice your religion. That doesn't make you a victim.

 

The government we pay for with our taxes is not there to promote, or give aid and comfort to, the christian myth.

 

And there's your problem. To anti Christmas people it's about promoting a religion while to Christians it's about celebrating an event.

A bell is just a sound (and notably one from a CHURCH, not from a government building). If you are telling me that a nativity scene doesn't refer to the birth of Jesus, but just really any baby at all, give it a shot.

I am unaware of immigrants asking people to stop saying Merry Xmas.

 

The public spaces are not for Chistians only. It gets far to messy to put up every religious scene people would want. So saying NO to all is just a lot cleaner way of handling the issue.

That isn't a war on Christmas, it's holding the constitution in higher accord.

 

Putting YOUR symbols OF YOUR religion on PUBLIC property is not only dishonest (there's that Christian sinning you KEEP AVOIDING) but it IS promoting your religion...

not everyone celebrates Jesus on Christmas, that is just for Christians, so yes, that would be Christian propaganda - if you want to put a Jesus figure in your front yard, more power to you, but the government should not be promoting it

how would you feel about a muslims bells on the state house lawn with prayer bells ringing multiple times per day - would you say it's not religious advertisement, just a reminder to the entire town pray, you can ignore them if you don't believe

No one is demanding other religious scenes. There may be a few who wish to participate qnd the government would have to abide. If one is allowed all is allowed.
