What age difference asking someone of the opposite gender for a date be a criminal offense?

I couldn't vote in the poll because, evidently, we've become so fanatically crazed in this country now that if any man even initiates any kind of conversation with any woman at all, he can be thrown. face-first. into the 'arena' of public ridicule. hatred, and scorn, and then have his life torn to pieces by the animals that are let loose to destroy him... with no PROOF at all that he ever did anything 'wrong' in the first place!

My advice to any young adult guy in the U. S.? Get good at masturbation and save yourself a LOT of potential misery....

mid-late 20's on, roughly. and the younger the teen, the smaller the gap ought to be. teens are just big children, with zits.

 

here's a better idea. become 'top 20%', and treat women as you treat friends.

any man who does those two things, will never want for female attention.

Yet we keep hearing "another accuser" has come out again Roy Moore.

Accuser? Of what? The latest is an 18 year old who said Moore (32) asked her for a date. She said no. End of story. How is that an "accusation?" Of what?

I think he lying about dating or wanting to date teens. But it's not illegal nor immoral in my opinion. Yes, most teenagers would think a 32 year old guy asking her out is "creepy" or would just say no. But nothing wrong with that. The accusation of forced groping (2) is another matter, particularly the 14 year old. But she has never said so in public and it just a hearsay accusation by a Democrat reporter.

This message is not entirely a defense of Moore. Rather, that we should separate what is an "accusation" of misconduct and what is not. Asking someone out on a date who is of legal age - even if much younger - is not misconduct.

Values have greatly changed across history. So have the reasons.

In the past, there was virtually no good employment potentials for women plus no effective birth control. From this, came a logic that women should marry young - both to have a man providing for her and in regards to pregnancy potential. There was no such thing as safe sex.

To the contrary, men should be older - at least old enough to be more mature and better capable of providing for her and the children.

With employment and contraceptives available to women, these reasons for women marrying young to men who are older no longer necessarily valid, though some females and males still want that standard. There are still teens whose goal is to become a stay-at-home mom. They do not want to go to college. They do not want to work a job. They want to be taken care of and to be a "housewife."

 

The funny thing is that from what I've heard and what I've observed, the young guys today just cruise the porn sites and spend most of their free time pawing around on 'smart' phones instead of being interested in women anyway. Ha... poetic justice!

 

And all guys over 25 never, ever look at porn except for women at least their own age too! If he's 30 he only looks at porn with women at least 30. If 40, only at women at least 40. A 50 year old never, ever looks at porn for any woman who looks under 40. ONLY teenage guys look at porn with young but legal age females for sure.

I have three daughters. I would have gone ape if as a 16 year old they "dated" a 30 year old. I did not go ape when my 21 year old daughter dated a 32 year old.

Adults should date adults and teenagers should date teenagers as a general rule.

IMO, a thirty something male trolling immature teenage girls is slimy.

 

Asking for a date is obviously not a crime. That being said if a 40 year old asks out a 16 year old on a date the girl should immediately take a picture of him and post his image on all of her social media accounts and in detail describe how creepy that guy is so that all of her friends can be warned.
