Yeah, I just wanted to reply to a part of your OP. The part where you asked if trump supporters being obsessed with nationalism, is reflective of their not so closeted views?

Looks like you are assuming, that his supporters are nationalists, with intimations of nazi styled nationalism, and this is reflected in their views, their views of the world. Like a band of nazis, together looking through nazi eyes, at the world.

I think your hatred has destroyed any rationality here. And of course, you would never agree. Minds tend to get stuck, like super glue to a view. A glue impervious to any known solvent. lol

I ignore everything trump does on Twitter because I ignore Twitter

Twitter is for idiots, not trump voters

The only reason trump uses it now is to piss off leftists

No, using Twitter to avoid being questioned and held accountable is an act of cowardice, and a disservice to the American people.

Trumps agenda is nationalistic. The rise of technology and other countries becoming more competitive requires America to be in a globalistic state of mind. Everyone thinks their country should come first, and always come out of deals first. But in reality, that’s not how it works. Being a nationalistic country means we live in a self-absorbed bubble. And this is how nationalism is dangerous. It has inherent flaws that put a country at a disadvantage on a global playing field. Calling it out for what it is, is not hatred.

I say rubbish. Nothing has changed in such a manner that called for us to desert the trade policies that our founders instituted which made america an empire. Without what our founders put into place, this empire would have never risen.

Economic globalism serves only the elites, corporations, big banks and the elites that own them. They literally bought economic globalism, and make installments on those payments each election. They finance elections. It is a ruse, and IMO, treasonous behavior given what it has done and is still doing to the citizens of this Republic.

Protecting ones own people, economically, is what our gov't should do, again. The founders set that up. And only since the 70s, with it going on steroids in the 80s, to date, have we been in this madness. And this is while other nations use non tarriff trade barriers so they can protect their own economy, and their businesses. Globalism my arse.

Some people are so dense that they believe economic slave labor globalism is a natural law. That there is no choice involved. It is just natural. Rubbish. It was a decision with one primary motive driving it. Not technology, no, but the maximization of profits. Which greatly benefits and enriches the elites. And faux liberals support it. A genuine liberal/progressive does not. Because it creates suffering with many of the common people. It hurts them economically and creates greater insecurity.

The political environment has become hyper partisan in general. Despite what many may believe, I am capable of independent thought. It allows me to see through the mindless claims of fake news. I don’t mindlessly chirp what the media says. It seems this site has become more infiltrated with people who identify themselves as conservatives than anyone on the left, and I notice more conservative friendly threads get more attention than left leaning ones.

So to reiterate folks.. we went from denying the source retweeted was a hate group to advocating for the deportation of an entire group of people on the basis of their religion, and declaring that Theresa May cannot lead a nation because she’s a woman. Keeping it classy

Thriving corporations and big banks are what create progress. This globalism is what has allowed American companies like Ford and Walmart to expand globally, and compete thereof.

So, we impoverish the american people, who depend upon an economic model to eat just in order that a few big corporations can enrich themselves? For this is what it boils down to. When you place the interests of a huge corporation, owned by elites, over that of the american people, this is economic treason. Our economic model used to provide for the american people.Isn't this what an economic model should do? Or is it better to leave the survival of the people up to the greed and whims of a group of elites only intent on enriching themselves? If you exert no control on such people, they will willingly destroy and hollow out a nation, as they act as parasites on consumer markets of which they contribute nothing to, but only take. Is that how any gov't should allow an economic model to look like? Not in my opinion.

Capitalism does not exist for Capitalism. It needs to exist as an economic models structured to provide for the elites and the People. We already had a model like that, until this scheme of slave labor globalism was hatched.

Most of these elites were once average American people until they achieved elite status. A turn in the right direction is to embrace elitism, not demonize it. To paint it as the American Dream, not the enemy to American way of life. The only ungrateful ingrates who are elites are those who inherited wealth.

I agree, corporations are not people and unfortunately, the latest tax bill treats corporations as people. I believe in responsible capitalism, not crooked capitalism. One can be left of center and be a capitalist. When a corporation benefits, and their shareholders benefit, many of whom are average Americans, this is a economic model benefitting the American people.

Somewhat ironic that Trump has twice put off coming to Britain because he doesn't want to face mass demonstrations then.
''you lefties are so easy to piss off, here's another racist re-tweet which is going to stir up racial hatred in the UK''
''what do you mean I'm not welcome to visit, I'm the president of the United States''

So how come the defense used for Trump tweeting is so that he can bypass "fake" news media sites and relay what he really is thinking? Trump has tweeted ISIS propaganda videos. Ergo he is now a recruiter for ISIS

We have witnessed a titanic shift towards the democratization of the dissemination of information with the advent of the computer and then the rise of social media. There is less centralized control of the message by corporately controlled media companies than ever before. But de-centralization has spawned another problem, a lack of accountability for accurate reporting. It's up to all of us to fact check, question what we are being told to believe, verify. I do agree however that there has never been more corporate control of the government by way of campaign contributions and the K Street lobbyists. The obscene tax bill being considered is evidence of that. Repubs fear the withdrawal of money from their donors so much they are willing to pass an unpopular bill that will screw their constituents just to appease the donor class.

He has to do the research when he is making false claims, I don't have to prove his point, he does.

Democratization of the dissemination of information? Sure, in some sense, yet at the same time the generation of such information has been concentrated into so few hands. There are many examples, but take something like radio stations. With the change in law, a corporation can now own radio stations all across america, hundreds if not thousands of them, with some of these being primarily talk radio. With a point of view. A political point of view. And of course 6 major corporations own most of the traditional media, that generates our news. And I do not see the information they relay to us by journalists, practicing journalistic standards. No standards, equals propaganda, as they give only one side of an issue or story.

In social media, you primarily see parroting of what MSM presents, right? And there seems to be a move to censoring, any outlet which just might be practicing genuine journalism, standards, by offering up the other sides to an issue or story. In fact, what we are seeing now is more control being introduced on what the people can be exposed to. So, we see this a bit differently I think. Do you think our media is as apt today to publish and do journalism on the Pentagon Papers? Didn't Greenwald have to leave the US because of something similar? Didn't we see people, journalists jailed under obama?

In regards to money and control, in 1980 the campaign financing of the .01 percent, was 10 percent. In 2012, the last record, was over 40 percent. Of course this group's wealth has quadrupled since 1980. And it bought them favoritism. Like lower tax rates. Like admitting or not admitting to guilt for breaking the law, in order to get off with a settlement. Too big to jail, as Holder basically said about the bankers laundering billions in drug cartel money. I could go on with what the .01 percent get in return for helping politicians get elected.

The effect of big money on politics is rather obvious, and you agree with this. And the old money political elite class as well as the new money affects law and policy, and generally only in the interests of those who give their money. That is hurts the non elites is also obvious. There was one a time when certain politicians were owned by a single wealthy person or family. Today? Most of them are owned by this group of the very, very rich.

The demonization involves the power of the rich upon a Republic, which has been shown, by the Princeton Study, to take away representation of the non elites, and their interests. To use your wealth, to screw the non elites, so that your own wealth is quadrupled since 1980 is untenable, as history has shown. The power of money, from the elites, has put at risk this republic, and some say, the republic is dead and only the forms remain. I tend to think that myself, but far smarter and wiser men than myself have said the same thing.

Its not the person who holds the post of the Prime Minister or the President, what matters is the office they both hold. Prime Minister’s and President’s come and go but the high office remains.

I think that many of the posts are missing the main point which is that the President of the United States speaks for all Americans and has to choose his/her public statements carefully. For example, why pontificate on another nations affairs when there is no point of doing so? May had no option but to tell Trump he was wrong, she has a duty to her subjects and its totally irrelevant of what religion they follow.
Trump followed up by making what can only be described as an insult, totally stupid of him. The Brits don’t hate Americans, if you need prove then why would the UK be a favourite place for Americans to visit?

Intelligence gathering is by far the best defence against terrorism. Both the FBI and there British equivalent MI6 work closely together and exchange vital information.
How long can that continue when you have a loose cannon in the White House?
Trump is your problem but its hurting America when he insults Americas closest friend.

Trump is not my problem, for I voted for sanders, then Stein. But he is our president, whether one likes it or not. America will survive trump, I have no doubt about that. But in the meantime, I will not bother my own mind, and be consumed with trump's behavior, unless he gets america destroyed by nukes. I just will not waste my time on this nitpicking hatred that incessantly comes from the people who in an obsession, hate the man.

And, what terrorist attack has our Post 1984 National Security State stopped? The FBI has recruited and supplied a couple, and then busted them. LOL The Bush Admin was warned about something coming, which turned out to be 911, involving planes, but our intel sucks. Or our administration sucked. So now ever internet communication is recorded, every text, phone call, and how many terror attacks has that stopped?

The guy who murdered MP Cox was not a member of, or influenced by Britain First.

Wrong. He has made false claims. Did you listen to the interview? I did. Perhaps you should do some research and listen to/read what you purport to be evidence.

People need to stop believing in the fake news or assuming that news is real just because some other person passed it along. Britain First is a Nationalist party, a Christian party, and a British party. They even say they welcome immigrants. Just those who want to accept Britain and British laws. There's nothing wrong with that. Since Muslim terrorists are taking over Britain, they have a right to speak out (not really, because when they do they are charged with hate crimes in Britain).

We'll have to agree to disagree about that. Because there are so many more independent outlets for news there are many reporters doing the reporting. Those independent outlets are beyond centralized control.
