Nothing about sasquatch is logical, if you believe that it is you need help that I can not give. Sorry this is just the way it is. If you can build a spaceship that can find another planet like Earth and all you need to do is walk off the ship and plant seeds and let animals roam to breed. Yup you are God I have proved that God is about to be proved, all we need to do is walk on Mars and begin the process of seeding it
Neither is anything about God. You attempted to "prove" God by redefining the term. I used your exact same method to "prove" the existence of Sasquatch. Again, that's called a counter example. If my redefinition didn't prove Sasquatch, your redefinition didn't disprove God. Sorry, this is just the way it is. Not by any reasonable English version of the word. And then we can, at best, satisfy an intellectually dishonest definition of the word "God". You still looking forward to me creating Iceland later this month? I know I am. I think I'll create the Northern lights and sled dogs too, since I will be seeing both for the first time and you have defined witnessing something for the first time as creation. Absurd, but I guess I'll go ahead and take credit for my creation. Hey, according to your definitions, I created you too!
You are comparing God to human beings.....yanno, God is not human, right? So how can you expect the morality from God?
Then I'm afraid you don't know what a strawman is. You have, indeed, put forward threats as a reason for belief for others while claiming that you, yourself, rely on evidence instead. Those are just the facts.
Cool, so we agree that the God you describe is evil and insane. Why would you willingly worship evil and insanity?
Choice with no threats would mean no Hell. Cool. Glad to see you no longer believe in Hell and will no longer be appealing to it in your arguments.
Not by any objective measure. If the God of the Bible exists, no human can compare to his evil. Not by a long shot.
Not for anyone who has both logic and common sense and has read the Bible. You and I are both morally superior to the God of the Bible. How many kids have you killed or ordered killed? Neither of us introduced slavery to the world. According to the Bible, God did. Both of us are probably moral enough to know that you shouldn't punish someone for the sins of their father. The God of the Bible is more morally ignorant than that. I'd never sentence someone who didn't worship me to eternal torture. The evil God of the Bible would.
It is when the choices are a threat. See the serial killer example. Both a choice and a threat, as any rational, thinking person can see.
Your first mistake is equating God to a human being. You do understand that God would be a superior species to humans....right?
Take a look at these two words: "choice" "threat".....now expain how these things are exactly the same.
Then he would be too superior to introduce slavery or murder children. The fact that you think these acts are "superior" is, quite frankly, deeply disturbing.
I just gave you an example. Why didn't you read it! I'll try to make it simpler: "Do things my way or I'll send you to eternal torment" is both a choice and a threat.
Not at all. The reality is the superior beings get to be as brutal as they want to the other not so superior beings. When was the last time a human being wiped out an enire colony of ants just for being in the wrong place? This happens on a daily basis. How many chickens, cows, pigs, etc are slaughtered on a daily basis so some human can have a nice meal? Humans are not so nice are they?
Might makes right is not a superior moral philosophy. So your new argument is that God doesn't care about us . . . awesome? Compared to the God of the Bible? Most of us are saints. I can't think of any human being who has been anywhere nearly, remotely as cruel as the God of the Bible. Can you?
Actually, Revelation says he sends them. And when God decides the consequences of the choice, yes, he is responsible for sending them. You keep pretending like God just accidentally happened across Hell and said, "Wow, I didn't create that and I don't know how it got here, but due to powers beyond my control humans will go there if they don't worship me. Sad." And, actually, most people throughout history were not given a choice. They didn't even have any knowledge of the Christian God. And God letting people go to Hell based on thinking for themselves and looking at the evidence instead of caving to threats? Yeah, sorry, that's totally evil.
