What the bloody hell ? What has NASA to do with any of this ? Just simple primitive telescope observations and radio telescope data tells us that. Space is huge, that was well known before the establishment known as NASA.
No, really? Who'd've thunk it! Yes, DoctorWho, I'm quite aware there's a great big universe out there!! jeez-us.
Nevermind, I am too freaking lazy to bother..... Sorry I asked. I will retire to drooling over imaginary blond hawties from outerspace with green eyes and long eyelashes.... Tee hee.....
Thank you - I'm flattered. Look at it this way; it's the 'emperor's new clothes' syndrome: I'm the boy who says 'But he's naked - can't you see that?' But the multitude say. 'Yes I do see it, but I don't believe he is because everyone else is saying how nice his new clothes are.'
` If you want to use "conspiracy" as a foundation for a post attacking science, you might have chosen something more topical, such as this; "NASA Fails To Spot Whale-Sized Asteroid That Skimmed Past Earth". Your opinions up til now, seem rather random, far fetched and devoid of any science or proof. But they are interesting, in a mundane sort of way. `
I routinely question everything. I study things and blindly believe NOTHING. Except for a cute hawty I saw yesterday with blond hair green eyes and long eye lashes, and I was all duh.....
At the size of a planet like earth, the sponge cake would collapse into an ugly mess under its own weight. Except for a thin surface layer, it could never be nice and fluffy. What a waste! Let's examine why engineers decide to join NASA (National Assured Scam Agency). Are there no job openings for engineers? There are many engineering jobs available. Are salaries at NASA higher than those of private industry? No, they tend to be a little lower. Do they enjoy a good laugh whenever the public falls for one of their fantasies? Muahahahahahahahaaa! Do they all lack a conscience? Yes. Integrity is highly overrated! Why would no one ever speak up about the big scam? Even after decades of lying to people, the fun never ends! Do engineers prefer creative writing over engineering? Creative writing all the way. That's why they chose to become engineers! Is there any satisfaction in working on a project, overcoming a bunch of problems and finally making it all work? Hell no! Are you insane? Yeah, I should ditch my current job and join the scam agency. That sounds like endless fun!
Blimey, a meeting of minds at last, and a kindred spirit t'boot. Will you marry me? I'll bet you'd have realised the emperor was starkers?
` ` True enough. I will wear that as a Badge of Honor. Do you think NASA is staffed by "secular humanists?" `
where to start...um...well our probes cant reach the end of the Universe, we will all be dead and forgotten long before our probe even reaches the next closest star so none of this really matters. But lets say it can, by the time it got there and sent information back the sun would have long run out of fuel and we wont be here to listen.
Hey, that's a hoot'n-toot'n coincidence - I'm a secular humanist too . . The philosophy or life stance of secular humanism embraces human reason, ethics, social justice, and philosophical naturalism while specifically rejecting religious dogma, supernaturalism, pseudoscience, ... Wikipedia . . . especially when it comes to pseudoscience, or fake science, as it's commonly known hereabouts. Fancy that eh? Small world, or what!!
Good point - it's all a bit like the end chapter of The Time Machine, where the last forms of life on earth are crustaceans, and that was because the sun shut down.
You know, that sounds like something a high priest would say about his religion. And one can notice that there are some who are self appointed high priests of science. Dawkins and Krause comes to mind. And then you have the "lay" contingent, who seem to know more about science than the high priests of science. I find it amusing in how people will continue particular behavior, even if humanity moves from religion for explanations to science for explanations. A commonality in behavior. I figure this comes with the authority involved, the authority of religion, and the authority of science. And you have those people who will exclaim, I know more about this religion than you, or, I know more about this science than you.
Might I recommend you avoid using the term "Fool" as it will certainly lead to thoughts from anyone who reads your diatribe that you would not like.
They were absolutely intended to venture into interstellar space. JPL attached the gold records to both vehicles understanding it could be millions of years before the miniscule chance of some other life might find them.
The Voyagers don't have enough velocity to leave the galaxy. They will reach stars in our galaxy in a few million years.
I still insist on really cute, Blond haired, green eyed hawties from outerspace, dressed in skin tight outfits.
I don't know about that but I do know of a comet that's made out of alcohol and sugar https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/researchers-catch-comet-lovejoy-giving-away-alcohol
There is no end to the universe, just like there is no end to the Earth. Think of the universe like a big balloon that is being inflated. If you were an 2-dimensional being walking on the balloon, you could travel all over it and never find the end. Why do I believe it? Because I studied science and the reasoning makes perfect sense. Here is a pretty easy to understand article that explains it: https://www.space.com/33005-where-is-the-universes-edge-op-ed.html
