we have posters claiming that if a society does not ban all guns completely, that nation doesn't ban guns. I believe if a country bans a substantial number of available guns, that society is a gun banning society. England, for example, bans all handguns, all semi auto rifles with a magazine and all shotguns with magazines. That ban, if applied in the USA, would ban 90% or more of the guns commonly owned by American citizens

    what say you?

Like due to a (deliberate) failure to understand basic English.
    To wit:
'Assault weapons" are banned in CA.
'Assault weapons' are guns - specifically, rifles, handguns and shotguns.
And so, guns - specifically, rifles, handguns and shotguns - are banned in CA.
    Thus, CA bans guns.

And remember: banning Islam does not violate the 1st Amendment, because you can still be a Jew.
