http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/truvada-protected-study-participants-from-hiv_55e9f596e4b002d5c07607a5 Scientists carried out a research which showed that taking only one single pill of a new kind of medicine protects people from HIV. Do you think this is a real remedy or just a new trick of scientists aimed at collecting more donations and subsidies? Should they let it be sold free in drugstores or it`s better to carry out further research?
I think they managed to find 300 complete morons. 50% STI infection rate after 12 months. One can only hope that they discover a side affect of taking that drug is sterility so that they don't pass their genes on.
Truvada remains woefully underused... Usage Remains Low for Pill that Can Prevent HIV Infection January 08, 2018 — From gritty neighborhoods in New York and Los Angeles to clinics in Kenya and Brazil, health workers are trying to popularize a pill that has proven highly effective in preventing HIV but which - in their view - remains woefully underused.
Well, it's still only 90% effective. That certainly wouldn't motivate me to use and rely on it if I was in a high risk category.
