The naturalization act applied to immigrants. That means immigration. It was the country’s first immigration law, and it specifically required that immigrants be white in order to become Americans.

I gave it to you already. Congress made it a right. They can of course take it away if they have enough votes in the house and senate. but for now, it's a right.

 

It's an individual right for anyone who wants to immigrate. Color of skin isn't a factor.

 

Our representatives need to advocate on behalf of the people in our Republic. If 90% of the population supports something and elected officials go against them completely, the people are not being represented at all. That’s a failure in the system.

This is a very recent change, and it’s important to recognize that is isn’t American for the overwhelming majority of the country’s existence. It didn’t originate from Americans.
