"wagner" is Russian wannabe blackwater....idk why they take german name....maybe they think theyre like einsatzgruppens ohlendorf, jeckeln, Koch, etc...anyway....

If true...that's a lot of Cargo 200:)), so the 215 casualty count that came from vermin Strelkov/Girkin may be accurate.
It should be noted that "wagner" was/is operating in the LDPR...east Ukraine. Anyway that's a lot of dead moskals sent back in a bag....so moral of story...never attack fortified US military installation!

Russia is desperate to get the US out of Syria... can't blame them for that but it's wishful thinking. If they used mercenaries in the attack Russia clearly ordered the attack but wanted deniability. I think they were hoping for some American casualties to stir up anti war sentiment among American public.

yeah true....they surely must have known there would be a reciprocal response, and massive one at that. Maybe this may give them pause ...who knows.

Probably would have worked when Obama was in charge.

I think they would have been sorely disappointed if that's the case!

I guess that's part of the life of a mercenary. I don't know why someone would want to be an unsung soldier who is liable to be "sacrificed" in a move such as this one, be they with Wagner or Blackwater or any other outfit. I just hope they knew what they were signing up for.

Ah, but there are so many ways to earn money. I'd sooner take on the risk of going on an Alaskan crab fishing expedition than sign up to be a mercenary.

... there's nothing pointless in the strength of the American response...there needed to be no doubt of what to expect in the future.

I have been very impressed with how the Americans have positioned themselves in this war

I'm curious - what is your interest in the conflict, if you don't mind my asking? You seem to follow it very closely and take a great interest, and be very well informed about it accordingly.

Ah, but standards of living and incomes are a bit lower in Russia. I think you'd find a lot of Russian men who'd be willing to subject their own lives to imminent danger for USD 100000 a year (6 million rubles)

With alcoholism and hopelessness taking hold in many parts of Russian society, many men might view it as a good opportunity.

Don't forget, you're talking about the country where "Russian roulette" originated.

I simply find it interesting, this forum is merely a distraction for me a puzzle or outlet if you want... at first my interest were only on the surface... it was Russia and America driving ISIS out of Syria. But as it became more evident the war in the middle east has tentacles world wide, North Korea Hong Kong Triads, Hezbollah's South American connections, Drug cartels also syphoning oil and selling on the blackmarket... ISIS moving into Africa and South East Asia... etc....how it all somehow manage to link back to the middle east. I find myself interested in what the players will do... for example I'm interested to see how Russia will handle the Israel/Hezbollah conflict in Syria, as it has the potential to create major problems for them... Russia have in the past shown creativity in extracting itself out of sticky situations and where there are no room for creativity they use excessive force. I'm interested to see how the US will handle the entire situation as I believe it should continue to stay engaged by remaining in the region. Also Iran and Israel, both patient with incredibly capable long term strategies... a bit macabre to say but are there two adversaries more deserving of one another.

I'm not overly sympathetic towards mercenaries....soldiers for hire....I'm somewhat old school in my thinking....join military, serve your country, honorable discharge.
Mercs, disloyal, untrustworthy, stab you in the back in a blink. Both have their drawbacks....just imho.

Syria has been in the Russian sphere for over half a century. It is Russia's ONLY foreign military base - while we have over 200 all over the world.

President Trump should stick to what he said and let Russia take care of Syria. Neither Russia nor Syria likes terrorists - in fact they both hate terrorists intensely and will kill them every chance they can. Accordingly, we not only have no interest in being in Syria, but it is against our interests. We are backing the insurgents, who are militant Islamists, who would come to poise terrorist threats in the region and the world.

We should completely get out of Syria. If so, the civil war would end. Might end brutally with atrocities, but both sides have been doing atrocities for years and at least it would finally come to an end - rather than continue year after year as we join in the killing with absolutely nothing to gain from it even possible. Russia will NEVER leave Syria. Ever. So what? At least Syria won't be a base of operation for radical Islamic terrorists. There is nothing else for us to care about Syria over. Nothing whatsoever.

Private war companies is a big risk for the world. Once started by the US it was evident it would have a response in future. There could have been an attack of mercs and they could have been caught with an airstrike, though I doubt such quantities. The times of merceneary armies are in the medieval past. At the moment they have the best weaponry and work in small groups. So if we divide the reported quantity 100 times we could get the actual number of the killed mercs of Russian origin...
The turks would continue their operation and the area used for American bases in Syria will continue to shrink. It's only a matter of time.

Literally the only reasons America is fighting this war are because politicians know that they can convince dumbass rubes that anyone they go to war with is actually evil and need to be stopped and get more popular, and also because they probably implant every president with a device that gives them a spontaneous orgasm every time an iranian child dies.

There are very good and very real reasons why America are involved in the middles east. For you to go from ^^^^^ to understanding those reasons is going to take time I don't have.

If you think that America has any business in the middle east, you clearly don't understand as much as you think you do. What, do you think that blowing the **** out of random afghanistani schools is gonna somehow make kids grow up to like America and not join anti-american terrorist groups? Because generally, "the evil empire killed my kids" is not the kind of life story that makes people less vengeful.
