It has been the end times since as far back as I can remember and I am almost 76. After awhile, I stopped giving these prophets any creds. I think I was around 9 years old when I did that.

I think it made the world much more interesting. Who wanted to listen to big band music forever? Not to say I don't enjoy that kind of music, being a musician, as I enjoy it all. But rock and roll and the blues has made my life more enjoyable. Hard to believe today that we called Yesterday, and songs like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, rock and roll!! lol Rock and roll made the kids want to hump hard when they danced. This is what upset the big band older crowd, the humping. lol And the mini skirts!! Personally, I loved it! And when the girls threw away their bras!! Young women in t shirts with no bra...ah, the memories! They called it liberation, I called it paradise. And this was after the stodgy 1950s which began to change with Elvis the Pelvis Presley. At least I have many fond memories of this era, and the excitement which was in the air. It was heaven for a young man is all that I can say.

The most interesting time in my life was in the 60s and early 70s. I loved it. And would love to take a time machine back and relive those times. Since then, I have seen nothing but vanilla pudding. Or a bleak, rainy, Monday morning.

    Then why you doing it.

If you've never read or heard about gays being killed, then you've lived in an echo chamber with no windows or doors. And yes, in your grandparents day, they did such a thing. Doesn't mean your grandparents did, but someones grandparents did.
Most folks stayed away from them, but also didn't allow them into mainstream world, and if they did, they were beaten and sometimes killed.
Blacks didn't have it so good either, many were hung in trees even as far back as 50/60 yrs ago. Probably your time frame.

I know all electronic devices track. Getting stuck in a snow storm in the middle of nowhere, that tracking device can be very helpful. Or some other possible circumstance when one will need help.

I have no idea what I hate being done to me.

LOL. Not worth responding to. Chicken little BS.

Old folks always think the latest generation has gone to hell in a hand basket. Been that way forever. That is the fact. Your world has moved on and left you in the 1940s or 50s.

Another subjective statement. The world isn't going insane, just some old people, dimentia and Alzheimers.

    The pickering post?
The Fairfax Press and the ABC have made scant attempt to cater for the middle ground and many redundant journalists have been financially supported by unions and the ALP in order to drag public opinion to the far Left, using the internet.

It has become increasingly difficult for me on an aged pension to keep this site going and it would be a shame, with the valuable contacts I have retained and built on, to allow it to die.

Come on. And that is all you got?

    Case in point.

No, rock and roll isn't the evil you said it would be. Did it change things, certainly. It got rid of the old coots who kept every evil deed they did in the closet. But your generation was not better. They just lied about it, alot.

Whatever, man. Whatever. You have more stereotypes and prejudices than those you talk about.

There's no ambiguity regarding "this generation."

There is no doubt that "this generation" unambiguously refers to Jesus' contemporaries. Had Jesus intended to refer to a future generation, he would have used the demonstrative "that" instead of "this."

I think it means the generation of Christians until HIs return. In other words, the evil one will try, but there will always be those who believe and follow Christ, until He returns.

At no point have I ever written or even suggested that; I'm quite aware there have been plenty of scumbags throughout the course of human history, and that there always will be. You're either being contentious for the sake of it, or playing word games, and I'm tiring of it, so the last word on this exchange is yours . . . you obviously want it! Me? I have bigger fish than you to fry!

Noted, but not worth replying to. I only engage with intelligent adults.

I just wonder, what lies in the religious mind that delights in these predictions.

You mean old adults with your same chicken little mentality.
You mean old adults who think the world is in serious decline, simply because gays don't have to be in the closet or get beat up anymore.

You can engage with those old adults.

We can predict the actual end times of our planet. In about 3 billions years, the planet will be digested by the sun which will be in the red giant star stage. The end of humanity likely will occur well before that. We are likely either to destroy ourselves or evolve into a different kind of animal. None of this will happen in my or your lifetime. Not worth worrying about it.

Well you're certainly not old - extremely young, I'd guess, and it's patently evident that you haven't yet had time to become wise. Incidentally - and you obviously have an ageist hang-up - if 47 is old then you're right - I'm old.

    Age is a numerical value.
Actually if you are 47, I am older.
But you seem to have the thought process, morally speaking, of a 70 yr old.
You think the world is in decline because gays no longer have to hide in the closet so they don't get beat up or killed. That is dinosaur thinking.

That has nothing whatsoever to do with age, it's to do with my personal moral code and the expectations of the behavioural standards in a civilized society.

That is a very good question, why are so many people obsessed with the end? I am enjoying the journey far to much to worry.

Yes, that is what I said, maybe you said it better, your moral code is one in their 70s or older.
Most of your kids generation and your grandkids generation won't give 2 cents care that one is gay or not gay. It is simply a non issue to the younger generation crowd.

I am older than you and I care little if one is gay or not gay. It has no impact on mine or really anyone's life but their own.

only if one convinces enough people, then it could become a self fulfilling prophecy
