I have a feeling that Democrats are going to win the next election or two, mainly because they swept into my town's election in 2017, even though Dems haven't learned their lesson. I don't quite remember what they made a mistake about because I have a short memory, but they needed to be taught a lesion as the voters reminded Dems by electing Trump.

Well, nothing has been learned, nothing has changed.

But Democrats are likely going to sweep into power in the next election, and then the USA will become nice again.

Well, maybe so or not. But the trend is for the Dems to take perpetual control more or less of the vote in the USA. If the Dems get their wish of lowering the voters age and killing off the electoral college, then I see little hope for any Reps. Conservative views are no longer popular in the US.

Once the conservatives have lost all hopes of deciding any vote...say goodbye to your guns!

But if they take all the guns how will children practice their aim with bottles and BBs???

On the other hand a Democrat's world may include many nice government programs... Some of which I might be a recipient of before this is all over. ;)

Way TOO Early to make any sort of prediction.

    To paraphrase Mencken:

Nobody ever went broke OVERESTIMATING The STUPIDITY of the American Electorate.

That above applies especially in House Races.

(And the current makeup of The House bears that out).

Way TOO Early to "predict" anything. :salute:

You guys better start donating. The DNC is in dire need.

Oh yeah, and you need a party leader, too. Since 2016, youve been a party of relics.

Don't forget we have an election for Congress this year: 2018. And I think it's going to turn blue.

The lack of funding is concerning, but how can a major party disappear???

And, you might call the Democrats a party of relics, but you should see what the young'uns think and support.

Tell us what dems have done to change the fact they've been losing elections SINCE 2010, and are now at levels of power NOT SEEN SINCE 1929. They've lost well over 1000+ seats ACROSS THE BOARD, at local, state, and federal levels.

That's not a swing in power, that's a CRASH IN POWER!

That's 89 YEARS of power change in less than a decade. It's pre-Roosevelt!

So what have they done to change that?

Well, like I said, the democrats won in my local town election in 2017. It's a Republican district, or at least it used to be. But for some reason we turned blue.

Now I have my own theory and that's that recent low income housing has changed the demographic of the neighborhood.

Under Obama, not necessarily because of him but during his term, more minorities have been moving into the suburbs and discrimination over what neighborhoods that blacks can live in (what properties realtors show their black clients vs white clients) has ended.

Good point, I saw some D candidates in ads before last week's primary. One guy looked just like Pajama Boy AND his dad, an eye doctor, appeared in his ads! I thought it was a joke at first then realized he's serious. Wonder how he did in the primary? I better check, he could be my next Congressboy!

That's the usual pattern. The dems will take over, then the republicans will take it back. It's just the way it works.

Huh? The Republicans have the majority of governorships and control the majority of state houses? How do the Dems have perpetual control?

Anyway, IMHO, any person or pundit that says that the other party is gone for good, is usually wrong.

In terms of demographics, most indications are that Gen Z (the gen after the millenials that are just starting to vote) are fairly conservative.

To win 2018, the Democrats don't need a lot more money or anything else except for T-rump to keep doing with he is doing. That's all folks. :) Bada bing bada boom.

They may win seats in the House, but probably not enough to matter. They will lose Senate seats.

"Conservative views are no longer popular in the US"

That's not really true. Trump did win the last election, and the difference in the popular vote was all in California (remove CA and Trump easily won the popular vote). The media wants you to think conservatives are a minority, and that is reinforced by the well planned "progressives" agenda and strategy, and is reinforced by the "progressive" leaning Republican leadership. But the nation is conservative, its just been asleep. Maybe its awake now.
