How many miles of that coastline have major cities or industry built up on it?

Don't you think it might be wise to start planning on what to do with them when the water hits?

Like maybe move them or try and divert the water, or are you just going to sit by while they slowly start flooding over then one day go, "Oh ****, we should have done something".

It was long ago but i have been to Amsterdam by train when I was living in Germany. I saw the canals of Amsterdam. Then nobody was talking of this so called global warming fiasco. Holland, the parts of it I saw are flat. And it borders the ocean. And they long have managed water. They got used to it. They do things different than Americans.

So what would be more expensive ...dealing with Climate Change or building dykes and gates around every city in the world...and moving billions inland as well.

You can't possibly be this dumb. You must be trolling

Its going to happen even if humans disappeared off the earth today.

Its happened plenty of times before we were even here.

    That is just a fact.

So let's say this. Let's say we know that in 2100 sea levels will have risen by 4 ft. which will cause water to push 200 miles inland at every point that is at 75 ft or lower to sea level.

Those are reasonable numbers, not a worse case or best case, just in between.

Now given that, what do you plan to do about it. Just sit by and wait for it to happen...watch as the water slowly starts creeping into NY and Boston on your television, watch as companies start having to close up shop and people are looking to move out, except the poor who have nowhere to go.

Or are you going to start planning for it?

This is a 100% guaranteed issue we as a nation are going to have to deal with at one point.

And you want to ignore it.

THIS is the kind of idiocy that explains the futility of "debating" Climate Change with Deniers.

Discussing Geometry with my dog would be a better use of my time

They are never serious. You will not find a single Democrat willing to wall off the sea. I have asked them for years. They see it as politics.

There is no debate, its going to happen, so what are you planning on doing about it?

That's the question you keep dodging.

Is it because you have no plan?

What it says to me is that you do not believe the sea will flood cities next to the ocean.

There is no plan. That is the entire idea. I know it because of the many many Democrats that I myself have challenged. They are in the dark.

meh This is a political forum...
OK then, when were CO2 levels in the atmosphere as high as today?

And he could have voted for someone who would not pull out of the Paris accord.

You don't make good arguments. Like, you wanted me to read some outdated books -capitalism has been around before Ancient Greece. A video with no clear thesis but just bluster and accusations. And a microcosm of Death Valley is not the whole world.

All they've done is change their argument. They'll ague that man is not the cause for another 15 years and then when that can no longer be Denied...they'll claim that it's too late and there's nothing to be done...and they may well be right at that point...

Are you a skeptic? Let's debate.

I have science and facts and reality on my side. Whose on your side? This guy? He knows nothing. It's basic phyics and chemistry. All living things alter their environment. It's a requirement to be considered a living thing. So by that standard alone, humans alter the climate.

Yep, and humans didn't cause it, what does that tell you?

Actually they would be correct if they said so right now. Firstly, we humans will NEVER agree to do anything en mass and secondly there is no action that would prevent the inevitable anymore. We have not even begun the upcoming Methane nightmare.

That climate change is deadly regardless of the cause?

I agree, humans didn't cause THAT climate change. But that doesn't prove we aren't causing it now. Good try though.

So you admit that nature changes the climate from one extreme to another.

Do you think that somehow stopped or that we can control it?

So we've had what.....six ice ages where we go from 70% coverage to almost no permanent ice and all of that happened before humans existed, except the last one where we caught the tail end of it but for some reason what we are going through now is suddenly our fault?

Nature has a predictable pattern it follows here but since humans came along it just stopped what its been doing for billions of years and let us take over huh?

Where do you people come from?

Tell me, when has there been a population of living organisms on the planet that have both numbered in the billions and consumed as much as we have? Never. The planet will survive. It will work towards equilibrium. The question is what will it cost us? Lots of money. You do realize all our farming and current food production is based on past weather? Not any changes we have made as most of them are only now being felt. CO2 levels are as high if not higher than they were prior to many mass extinction events in that past you claim to understand so well. So again, your argument that living things have no impact on their environment is false. And given that no creature of our consumption rate has ever existed in such numbers, it's impossible for you to claim that 7 billion of us aren't changing the environment. Nature is never static. Nothing is ever holding constant in nature. It's all changing and all influenced by everything that exists. If you don't understand that, you really don't understand how matter and energy work.

We are still in the midst of an "ice age" yet the Earth is rapidly heating, and after the last warm little spurt the ice again continued millions of years ago.

Dinosaur extinction? I don't see a lot of volcanic activity, meteors in the sky, or both.
