Boy with sick father turns to President Trump for help and gets touching response

    March 28. 2018

Eight-year-old Fore Putnam has watched in silence for three years as his father, Trae, suffered through dialysis treatments and sat on the transplant wait list, hoping and praying for a new kidney. The North Carolina boy was powerless against the rare blood disease that rendered his father in complete renal failure. However, he's powerless no more.

Just before Christmas, with a little help from his grandmother, Fore penned three letters: one to President Trump, one to his daughter Ivanka, and one to Santa Claus.

In the letter to Mr. Trump, the little boy wrote, "My dad has been sick for a long time... I want him to get better, so he can get a job again so we can play. My mom just left, so if my dad gets better, she might come back... Please help my dad for Christmas. That's all I want for Christmas, and maybe one toy."

A few months later, to his grandmother's delighted surprise, a response arrived directly from the White House.

"I went to the mailbox and I got it out and it was in the official envelope," Fore's grandmother, Sheila Sherrill, told CBS News. "I really thought it's probably just a canned picture of him with some sort of canned response. But I called my son and told him that Fore had some mail here. And when we opened it, I was just in awe. As busy as presidents are, he took the time to write to an 8 year old that has such a heart for his dad."

It really has given me hope," Trae Putnam told CBS News. "I've been on the kidney list for three years and you kind of feel helpless, just like I'm never going to get it. But all of the people that've responded to it on Facebook, and people calling. We've actually had a few people give us their information that are interested in maybe donating."

Trae says he had no idea that his son had written the letter and that his family was completely shocked by the response they got from President Trump "with a signature and everything."

"I just want people to know how proud I am of my son," Putnam said. "He's really special. He always thinks about everybody else more than he thinks of himself and that's rare for an 8 year old."

Wonder if CBS had to grit their teeth to report this story. Will CNN share it with millions of airport visitors? Doubt it.

President Trump has a long history of such kind-hearted deeds. Just gets lost in the frenzy to destroy him.

    That's a nice letter on Trump's part.
Of course, will have to see if there is any follow-thru.

Trump never returned to Houston to see how they fared after the storm.
Trump never returned to the Florida Keys to see how they fared after the storm.
Trump never returned to Puerto Rico to see how they fared after the storm.
Trump never even bothered to go to Santa Barbara after their fires and mudslides.

    Talk is cheap.

It's so magnanimous of the Trumps to have thoughts and prayers. Even though he never went to church.

Meanwhile, he's pulled the plug on Obamacare which will deprive thousands of people of the care they need.

Donald Trump And The Wollman Rinking of American Politics

“Once upon a time there was an ice skating rink in Central Park that could no longer make ice. No one could figure out how to fix the skating rink. Years went by and millions of dollars were spent and still no ice. One day a white knight wearing a bright red tie showed up and said: ' Let there be ice!’ Four months later there was ice. When asked by the press why the people had been unable to fix the rink themselves the knight said 'they’re very nice people and I like them very much but they're all idiots!' And everyone lived happily ever after.”

Pretty much the true story of the Wollman Skating Rink fiasco. You can even check the New York Times. On May 31, 1986 Donald Trump said in an interview with the Times, "I don't want my name attached to losers. So far the Wollman Rink has been one of the great losers. I'll make it a winner.'' On Monday, The New York Times reported that Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield announced their intention to leave Iowa's Obamacare exchange next year because they lost $90 million in three years due to most of their enrollees having "expensive medical conditions."

On Friday, it was reported that Anthem Inc. Is poised to leave most of the Obamacare exchanges, as they had lost $374 million last year. This is a significant development because, as Guy Benson pointed out at Townhall:

Thanks to Obamacare's slow-motion implosion, just one single provider remains as a "choice" for consumers who live in roughly one-third of all US counties. In many of those places, Anthem has been that last holdout insurer, which is now reportedly about to end in 2018. Millions of Americans could be left with zero marketplace options, as the planned withdrawal of the last remaining US healthcare giant from most areas marks the latest sign that Obamacare is an unworkable actuarial nightmare.

Anthem and Wellmark will join Humana, Aetna and UnitedHealth as insurers who have fled Obamacare exchanges, reaffirming that the Obamacare death spiral is real and will only worsen from here.

Conservatives undermine and de-fund government programs designed to help the middle/poorer classes and then complain about what a lousy job government does.

    It's a repetitive story.

But they say they think and pray for them. It's touching.

Nothing like the old " thoughts and prayers" dodge to avoid doing anything.

Trump jumped in and with no transparency and piles of cash rebuilt the arena and made sure everyone knew he did it.

Hey if you work double shifts and don't bill for it...you can do anything.

    It was a LOSS LEADER

And he parlayed that into hundreds of millions worth of of contracts.

There was no "saintliness" there. Just flim flam

Tell me 5 acts of kindness Hillary or Obama has done? I think offering to fix the skating rink for nothing and then donating all the profit from it is a pretty nice act of kindness too.

I could just see Obama telling that boy something like "welcome to the world of being black, I didn't have a daddy and most of us didn't either. If we did it so can you. Take a number and get in line kid."

You know he got hundreds of millions of contracts from it, or are you just making a wild statement? You forgot to mention he was losing money when he took it over and was making money when he fixed it and he donated all that money to charity.

Here's how it works. Trump doesn't open the mail that's addressed to the president. If he did he wouldn't have time for Mar-a-Lago. He has people that do that. They discard all the junk mail and put the other mail in groups for different departments. What happens is 'one of trump's people' sees a heart warming letter from a kid like this and think: hey, this would be a neat opportunity for the F****** moron to get a little favorable PR which doesn't happen too often. The response is typed and prepared for trump to sign. It's given to him with the original letter from the kid with the suggestion that it would be a neat gesture if he signed and mailed the letter, which he does. Thank someone in the mail room. Don't thank trump.

How do you explain his acts of kindness before becoming president?

Awww, nevermind... we know there's nothing but hate for the man in the hearts of lefties, as confirmed in this thread.

There are many, many, politicians worse than Trump. There are many, many, human beings worse than Trump. I say Trump is a nice man with a nice family. Obama is a nice man with a nice family. But only Trump understands what makes America great.
