you do have a point, especially after Trump bragged he was leaving Syria

after the Trump lawyer thing though, Trump needs a distraction, so Syria may fit the bill

I just turned on Fox and Tucker is talking about it. I was wrong that the first time we did it was after we were going to pull out. He said that he was no longer going to back ousting Assad. I remember it now and I remember saying back then it didn't make sense to gas innocent civilians after Trump said he would quit trying to oust him. This one doesn't make sense either. I think they are all wrong in pushing Trump into retaliating against Assad. I think the people we are backing is doing it.

    Bollocks!
Assad was almost done with ISIS and the other scumbags. And he suddenly thought "well, it is going so well for me that is boring. Why not use chemical weapons to make everyone hate me and come take me out?"

 Haven't you heard - 'evidence' is a dirty word these days, and frantic attempts are being made by the West to expunge is from the English lexicon. Go and wash your mouth out, and never say it again! Nowadays you have to say 'presumed', or 'suspected', or 'allegedly' in the spirit of the Newspeak agenda?

Are you saying that the use of gas would be inconsistent with the barbarity of his opposition?

Odd too that it comes right after Trump announces his plans to withdraw. Which side does not want US troops out of Syria?

There may be a clue there.

So we sink a couple missile boats at most. What exactly does that do?

Retaliate against him how? By "taking out" an airfield that was back in full operation within 24 hours? I'm sure he's real scared of that.

I've read that the Syrian navy has been used to bombard rebel held areas along the coast.

There really isn't any rebel coast left.

I think you may be right, but the timing will play into Trump's hand perfectly, so that may play a huge role in the direction he chooses to take, so if we are being manipulated into war, it may just work, especially sense Trump just got a huge military budget to play with

Retaliation? Nothing he can't handle. Stay longer? There's no reason at all to believe it would cause us to change our intention to leave.

As I said, if it won't change U.S. policy, a gassing intimidates the opposition.

Seems more like a signal from the Russians that they or their clients can do as they please in some parts of the Middle East.

Evidence? That's why invest billions in intelligence gathering by CIA, NSA, and FBI all of which the alt-right hates. Perhaps we should ask the Security Council of the U.N. real nice if they could go in and ask Assad if he did it? Maybe we should just take Russia's word for it.

As to why we should do it, Christians believe we ARE our brother's keeper. Who else if not America. We have the strongest military and, supposedly, a moral imperative to use it to protect innocent people. It asks, what kind of country we are, what kind of people we are? Are we self interested isolationists or a strong, ethical player on the world stage?

What will Trump do? He'll either act like a strong, competent president or look for someone to blame (Hillary, Obama).

    What experts ?

It would help if every second article on Syria from the mainstream media was not packed with lies and false narrative. It would help if the State dept and the Bureaucratic talking heads from our military and intelligence services did not lie their faces off on such a regular basis.

All you are doing is blindly accepting information from seriously jaded sources.

What a joke of a response. Aside from the obvious logical fallacy (just because some dude is a dictator does not mean he used chemical weapons) .. if you took a few minutes to do something other than gulp down propaganda from Establishment pundits and the MSM you would quickly find that the Islamist Jihadist rebel opposition has used chemical weapons and it is part of their modus operandi to do false flag chemical attacks.

And also why he should care. Which is the question I answered. Reading comprehension is desirable when you jump inot a conversation

Sure. You give me control over all our Intelligence agencies and I'll find out.

    That's Trump's job! Not mine!

Why are we now getting the nutty ones?

The Russians are entrenched in Syria now.

So there is nothing the USA can do there.

    Game over.

The gassing stories look like common war propaganda. Nevertheless, if the UN asks Trump to bomb the crap out of Assad - Trump might as well let the warmongers do their favorite thing - again.

That kind of irrational aggression might might be useful in the context of our negotiations with NK.

Trump already bombed Syrians because of their use of WMDs on their own people.
    How is this different?

I want out of these foreign entanglements that do not benefit the USA. If the Russians want to spill the blood of their children over some worthless territory that they don't own that is on them. Why should we do it?

When did you start opposing arbitrary military strikes?
Are you a "peacenik" now? ;-)
