They have lobbied for restricting and prohibiting firearms ownership, and are requiring healthcare providers to inquire to patients about whether or not they possess a firearm, and to inform them about the dangers associated with such.

Why do you ask about "small children"? Gang members up to age 17, and sometimes even older, are classified as children with regards to homicide statistics.

Yesterday a child under 12 died and tomorrow another child under 12 will die because of guns.

Unless you confiscate all guns, people will use them in homicides and suicides. Since Sandy Hook, according to CDC data, 628 children 12 and under were murdered with guns. 2,628 were murdered by other means. 109 firearm suicides; 333 non-firearm suicides. Why aren't these other deaths important to you?
