In a rich, war-free, and democratic west ... there is very little remaining to prevent the exercise of free will. At least, there is nothing systemic remaining. Whatever obstacles (to the exercising of our will) we may encounter are going to be personal. Physical or intellectual limitations, or choice.

I think you only learn things from people you agree with.
so you talk about some obscure topic that never goes anywhere oh how edgy how different oh how the girls must fall for you.

oh so we all have to engage you well I'm sorry I just don't think the depth of your nuance is much more than a mild puddle in the Desert Sun.

if you think you have some of the nuanced view of Communism that nine million people before you haven't come up with you are utterly despondent. I'm sorry if your ideas were unique you could write about them and be a best-selling author long after you're death.

yeah that's what happens and I typically dismiss such nonsense or I mock it. But you have to be at at some level of respect for your mockery to mean anything.

You don't believe in X you believe in y.

Strange you whined about that in this very post and then did it to me.

    That's kind of hypocritical.

If you want people to think you believe in systemic analyses, try not rejecting concepts for being systemic analyses

I would prefer to hear Liberals criticize the Alt-Left and Progressives.

Seems like Obama was the last one to do so.

Well you just call them Trump supporters or some cutesy little term involving Donald Trump's last name.

They should stick to cooking, cleaning and raising children. Maybe then we wouldn't have this tendency our kids have to kill each other.

Petersonism seems almost guaranteed to not get a man laid. I'd be suspicious of his motives if I were foolish enough to consider him anything other than a comedy act.

I like Peterson because I find his work fascinating and I sometimes get stuck, binge-watching him on YouTube. However, it is actually quite amazing to me how his "life lessons" has had such a huge impact on young men - What he says about "cleaning your room" and "sorting yourself out" should not be revelations to anyone, but the fact that it seems to be just that, is a very sad reflection of modern society. Nonetheless, it is positive that some people find him helpful. :)

For me, he is just an interesting intellectual.

this is my view of Jordan Peterson:

in my personal opinion, JP talks too much. He never smiles. He's angry. He appears to disregard real sociological phenomenon too easily for purely academic reasons. He seems reluctant to try to put himself in other peoples' shoes. He seems to be looking for a fight. He doesn't appear to be searching for a middle ground or to reach compromise or to work to bridge the gaps with his opponents. I'm not sure he's a positive influence on our society.

There is no middle ground, and no bridges to build with the left. It's just ideas, and his ideas are winning.

When his arguments shut people down of course leftists hate it. It’s difficult to have a rational discussion with him when your arguments are based on emotion. Most leftists just start flailing and grasping because they can’t keep up.

    thats nice.

but doesn't reflect my views or criticism

tell me, do you believe that non-whites are ever mistreated simply due to their race, or do you believe that any mistreatment is deserved due to the actions of others of the same skin tone?

Your criticism is limited to irrelevancies like how he talks too much and doesn't smile enough. That might go over well with some people, but there's a reason he's so popular now, and it has nothing to do with what kind of personality he has. Focus on that at your peril.

Your question illustrates another problem. You ask about non-whites being mistreated due to the actions of other non-whites, and whether they deserve it. Why exclude whites? Let's just put them in there, and your question becomes 'do you believe that people are ever mistreated simply due to their race, or do you believe that any mistreatment is deserved due to the actions of others of the same skin tone?'

The answer is, of course, yes and no. That would be racist. Now where did this get us? Absolutely nowhere.

Extremely racist to say blacks are victims. It breeds bad results when it’s fake news.

we are talking about white privilege.

i believe it is a real phenomenon, based on the mistreatment many non-whites experience due to their skin color, regardless of their behavior

Yes. Affirmative Action is legal racism against white males specifically. White kids who had nothing to do with slavery, aren’t eligible for as many scholarship as black or female students. They will be denied acceptance to make room for equal or inferior candidates in college and in the job market....even though they’ve done nothing wrong. They simply have white skin and are of the wrong gender.

Recently, A white girl was invited on stage to sing along with a rapper and she did it word for word even using “*****” like he does. He stopped her than she was essentially booed off stage. She wasn’t being racist. Its a term of endearment. Very different than the one with “er” at the end. And it was the lyrics to the rappers own song. Apparently only blacks can rap his words. She obviously wasn’t being racist but you can hear in the crowd people calling her one.

I’d call that being abused for simply having white skin.
