No just making an observation. You don't and we both know it.

That may be so. Our best and brightest had better find a way for him to do just that.

They might start with some limited integration of a few military units in the North and South.

The USG has always been a cluster ***. Trump's strategy seems sound to me.

The military exercises that involve practicing for an amphibious invasion of the NK have always looked like an expensive phony show to me. Two a year!?

Trump kissed Kim in the same way Hitler kissed Stalin ... with his fingers cross behind his back.

I liked the video but I feel its very western. Anyway it was a smart idea, but I doubt Kim will renounce his nukes after all the effort.

I want to bet If he does that, NK will get bombed ala Libya in our lifetime(20years at max). 1 bitcoin thru an ethereum smart contact, If someone is interested PM me.

We have by far the biggest military budget in the world. Why not use it? The military is there to do things like this. To stabilize regions. This happens to be a region where we need to make our presence known. No need to tuck tail now.

No I don't think so. He can't do squat with his nukes other than as a deterrent. He can bluster and bloviate, but he can't use them without certain extinction. I don't think egomaniacal dictators have a death wish.

You think assembling a fleet near the NK coast with at least 100,000 troops is the way to conquer NK?

History suggests that egomaniacal dictators tend to be aggressive warmongers.

The military exercises were to ready SK, the U.S., and Japan in case of aggression by NK. Coordinating that with different countries militaries is no easy thing. We aren't talking about Jimbo grabbing his shotgun and going coon hunting. These are important exercises for fluidities sake as well as showing NK we aren't ****ing around. I'm a lefty all the way and am generally against acts of aggression but in the Korean peninsula these acts of solidarity and force are needed.

Ask Mattis about it. Say what you will about the guy, he is the perfect voice for that part of the world.

You did not answer my question.
As I pointed out occasional joint military exercises make sense.
Practicing for a massive amphibious invasion of NK, IMO, is just pure folly - and very expensive.

I vehemently disagree with you. The U.S. has a huge military budget. Things like this are what that is for.

It serves its purpose, which is a show of force. The posturing is to keep from having to deal with a hostile NK. Keep them in their place. Separate, but equal.

Preparing to use obsolete WW II tactics does not keep NK in its place. Nuclear weapons keep NK on their side of the DNC.

If our troops are ever used against NK you should pray that they are not ever assembled on vulnerable landing craft off the NK coast.

Exercises to fortify the southern end of the peninsula and to practice stopping or slowing an NY land invasion might make a bit more sense.

Unless his nation is an impoverished malnourished one, without the resources to prosecute a war for more than a day or two. He has no real industrial base to sustain it let alone enough strategic suppliers. What' good is ammo if you don't have gas or food?

I agree, but the U.S. letting their foot off the gas will only embolden Kim. Kim feels more emboldened now that at any time during his reign. Thanks Trump. :applause:

Doomed dictators tend to become very irrational. KN could erase Seoul fast with conventional artillery.

We do have the big stick, but is not the threat of an amphibious landing.

The DD invasion was barely practical in 1944. Naval vessels approaching the NK coast now are just sitting ducks.

Trump will probably nuke NK if this deal falls through. Frankly, I doubt that he will have any choice.

Maximum pressure campaign give those same dictators a ray of hope for survival.

Any 'war" including the unthinkable - an American preemptive nuclear strike would result in hundreds of thousand or million killed and hundreds of billions of dollars in damage. There is no war scenerio where that tragic outcome is not realized.
