Quote something to illustrate that?...I gave you the quote, and I gave you the link which happens to be a link that came directly out of your link. The entry criteria for that study that you reference do not apply to the vast majority of people currently caught crossing the border illegally. You are showing results from apples, and implying those apply to oranges. They do not. Beware of blog authors leading you down the primrose path.

My alternative: Abolish ICE. Prosecute everyone involved with it. Open the borders.

The supplied link in the OP talks repeatedly about allowing the subject to continue to work. Once these illegal immigrants have employment their legal representatives will use that as a basis for an argument that they should stay in this country in any court hearings concerning immigration status.

This is a lose, lose for controlling our boarders.

If you are really that concerned with law, then the first one they skirt should be your first priority :)

Being a MISDEMEANOR crime doesn't give them legal access at a entry point or crawling thru the sagebrush either..

Then maybe we ought to enforce laws against hiring illegals

    Ya think?

We should. I have been saying that for a long time. It will become less attractive for illegals coming here to start with.

We should do a lot of things

    But we aren't

Trump certainly hasn't said one word about that

Or Obama or anyone else. It is still something which needs to be done. We have laws. If we aren't going to enforce them, then change them.

There is a better way. Still catch and release but when someone enters illegally just take their name, put them in the system and return them to their country of origin.

If they want asylum they can travel back and have their day in court.

I gotta agree with you. That's the true solution. Forget about walls. Forget about deportations of non-criminals (well, besides the crime of crossing illegally). Make eVerify work better, and require it's use, and harshly punish all employers who hire illegals.

Unfortunately, no politicians have said much about it.

Nah, we need a wall and other border security measures. Not all illegals coming in are looking for jobs. We should stop detaining.

Illegal aliens should be put into the sytem and returned to country of origin to wait for hearing. If they come back they get their day in court. If not, oh well.

Why do you care? What is your profit motive?

Cato appeals to me on the basis is liberty. But we are dealing with outlaws. Bonny and Clyde protested they belonged as free humans too based on their occupation of being bank inspectors.

But merely because a person will lie to break the law does not mean you must coddle them.

This is what our country did to the Bonny and Clyde gang and the people applauded it.

The car was hit with more than 100 armor piercing bullets.

Border could treat them like our CA DMV handles us. We apply for an appointment about 2 months early and once at the DMV have the luxury of waiting 7 hours. But we are citizens. So why treat them as well as citizens?

We could hand them a return pass for them to use to apply to enter. If they have a reason to enter and we validate that, then they can return at a later date to handle their appointment. So if they must visit Uncle Pablo, they get a day pass and head back home. With an ankle bracelet of course.

The great majority of illegals are coming here for jobs. that's why during the last recession the number of illegals coming over went down considerably (and many self-deported). Take away the job market for them, you will take away their primary reason for coming here.

Comparing a non-violent misdemeanor with armed robbery is pretty... well...I'm not actually allowed to say on this forum...

    But you get the point

How about just making it difficult all the way around. I do not believe a fruit picker is more dangerous than a MS13 gang member.

So you believe they are all non violent then? Tell me you believe that?

I hope that the reason you can't say on the forum is that you were taught a solid lesson due to posters and mods.
