    Too bad no one not in finance is paid by the big wall street tycoons and those who do and are good at it get paid really well.

    That describes roughly ten percent of the regulatory over burder and most of that is covered under the heading of fraud at lower governmental levels.

    We actually have used a form of Socialism within the United States.

    It was called chattel slavery.
    It called upon a wealth redistribution where it not only took over possessions, but also the labor of a group of people.

    In return, that population was given food and clothing according to what their benefactor thought was fitting.

    What is telling is that Woodrow Wilson bought into bringing that mindset back into existence as was suggested by his mentors in the South.
    And it is the foundational element of the PROGRESSIVE movement. The top 4% decide what is best for the bottom 96%.

    Everyone of these articles you quote from is an opinion piece on a leftwing website. Dead on arrival. You need to try harder and go with actual facts from research papers and government data base analysis.

    And every single time the Republicans DEREGULATE it there are consequences.

    The Savings & Loan crises was caused by financial deregulation.

    The GOP Contract ON America deregulations caused the ENRON fiscal crash.

    The GOP Glass-Steagall deregulations caused the 2008 economic collapse.

    Needless to say these DOCUMENTED FACTS will result in numerous kneejerk denials from the alt right.

    It not bovine excrement. The republicans (nor anyone else) has ever removed the regulations from the financial industry. It has always been and continues to be highly regulated.
