    Can you freaking believe this ****? This is how Americans in Connecticut are treated? Imprisoned for defending yourself?

    Is this how liberals think it should be? Making criminals out of law abiding citizens.

    Yeah I read this yesterday.

    The judge gave him 18 months because he told him he was required to run from his attackers. Yeah. Three of them. That way he'd die tired.

    Still, he's alive, which he probably wouldn't be if he hadn't defended himself.

    Yeah, but what kind of judge can sentence a man to prison for defending himself? Maybe community service or suspended sentence at least.

    The ones who have to follow laws the democrats pass in their shitty state.

    Judges don't always have leeway like that. It all depends on sentencing guidelines.

    Yeah, that's true. Why is there a law that says you have to run away from attackers. What kind of people live in Connecticut that will not stand up for themselves?

    You see them all the time on the forum here talking about how they wouldn't resist attackers, even to save their own lives.

    Look at the whole "abolish ICE" movement.....democrats are pro-criminal.

    There's a reason Jim Jones flock came from CA.

    Considering that Connecticut was one of the original thirteen, this is quite embarrassing. My how times have changed. If the current residents had been around in the late 1700s, Connecticut would still be an English colony.

    Here in Florida I believe the victim could have shot his attacker instead of just stabbing him, but I'm not 100% up on our "stand your ground" laws.... ;)

    Reportedly he chased after them outside the shop, caught up with one and stabbed him.

    Having said that, the prosecutor should have never brought someone with no priors to trial for that. Horrible prosecution and questionable public defender.

    Duty to retreat is a stupid measure. If someone attacks you, you should be able to use whatever force is reasonable and necessary to repel the attack.

    You should not have to run.

    This is a travesty of injustice. Unbelievable. "Follow the rule of the law."

    This is the problem with blind adherence to the law, and I welcome every right wing poster here to read this story and tell me I'm wrong.

    This judge ought to immediately resign.

    There's not a lot of facts describing what happened, but it sounds like he may have chased the juveniles outside and then stabbed one of them. If that's the case he probably deserves the conviction.
