BERLIN (Reuters) - German authorities are examining an Iranian bid to withdraw large sums of cash from bank accounts in Germany, a German Finance Ministry spokeswoman said.

“This is being examined,” the spokeswoman told a regular news conference.

Earlier, Bild newspaper reported that German authorities are considering a request by Iran to withdraw 300 million euros ($352.98 million) from bank accounts held in Germany and transfer the cash to Iran.

Germany should show a little independence and hand over the money - unless it wants its sailors to end up in Iranian waters - by accident of course. :oldman:

Sounds like maybe it's time for the EU to decide where they will land on the Iran deal.

If it's Iran's money then they should have access to it.

But Trump wants them to reimpose sanctions. Will they? It's time to decide.

Why is germany even “considering” giving Iran it’s cash? If it’s their money they should be able to do with it whatever they want.

Mo, because Trump is not the chancellor of Germany. We dont react well towards foreign head of states making orders towards us. Germany will nog reimpose sanctions.

How many Muslims did Poland take in? Looks like Poles told Merkel to take a hike and take in those refugees.

Iran needs to buy more bullets so it can shoot those hijab-less women dancing in the streets.

Hitler certainly liked them enough to consider them Aryans. Germany was Irans top trading partner during the Reich.

Are you sure that it is Iran? You might have misspelled Italy. Juventus just signed Ronaldo for E120M plus signing on fees and wage guarantees making much more than 300M euros. But on thread, 300 million Euros is not a lot of money to do anything with, not even enough money to build a second division football stadium. So why would it be even considered - there are no grounds for refusal.
