We were talking about Cal Poly SLO and their efforts to increase ethnic diversity. I'll take the win even if you dont admit it you were wrong, but if you admit you will probably feel like a good person. Try it.

 

If being fully staffed is 50 employees, then to hire 10 Asians would require the release of 10 Whites. Same for the college. Their 30 page plan does not call for an increased student population; therefore, their plan requires a sharp reduction in White student acceptance.

The key part of the report is missing from the OP's quote. Minority applicants nearly doubled but the percentage of minority students only increased by 8% during the ten-year period because California banned Affirmative Action at public universities in 1998. The College Fix is a libertarian-leaning online newspaper and many of its articles are misleading.

 

We have never spoken. At best we have discussed via a few cursory message board posts.

California has tremendous diversity.

But the state (through sanctioned racism)

has decided its local "college" somehow knows whats best.

The "college" is staffed by children and leftists.

In Cal Poly's 30 page report on diversification, they do not call for an increased student enrollment, so in order to obtain the goal of a lesser White percentage, they must reduce the number of Whites on campus. Surely you can handle simple mathematics.

Wonder how this other UC campus gets by with bragging about their diversity when they only have 13% White students.

Libertarians seek to maximize political freedom and autonomy, emphasizing freedom of choice, voluntary association, and individual judgment. Agree you are poly SLO, but you don't seem to understand how increasing one thing, decreases another-particularly in a constrained parameter like the UC enrollment capacity.

I was UC in the 90's. It all gone now. And it was apparently gone by the 80's, from people who know.

 

I consider myself an independent with libertarian leanings. In the heat and dust of California today, that means conservative.

I honestly don’t feel I have a party, I am heavily conservative in some areas, highly liberal in others. In most areas I believe in maximizing both personal freedom while at the same time lifting all Americans up.
Strongly against illegal immigration (and birthright citizenship to children of non citizens), excessive defense budgets, lack of governmental accountability and subsidies to private companies.
Strongly for equal treatment of all, public healthcare, lower taxes by creating efficient programs and strong environmental and consumer protections.

Last three presidents or terms? If by Presidents, meaning 18 years I have voted Republican once, Democrat twice and independent twice.

Governors have been split and Congressmen have heavily favored Republican.

Both parties have been taken over by fringe ideals that believe there is no middle ground, that the other side is stupid - wrong - evil - or a combination of the three.
They are willing to do anything to secure a win and hold it.
Both are morally bankrupt.

Our entire election system needs to change to correct this.

1) high school GPA 3.8, SAT verbal 650, SAT math 670, and either white or Asian.

2) high school GPA 3.0, SAT verbal 570, SAT math 590, and either black or Hispanic.

Do you take applicant #2 because you want to get the number of whites at the school under 50%?
