I was in the grocery store getting some fresh fruit and vegetables. I roamed by the cereal isle and had my hand on a small box of Fruit Loops. Then I thought about all those posts you guys posted about eating healthy. I put the box of Fruit Loops back and checked out of the store.
Im loading the car with groceries and it dawned on me. The bar has food rehab meetings and I had an intervention.

I really wish I bought those Fruit Loops. You know, all the colors taste the same. I tested it once.

I have a grown-up question that should be easy to reply.
You see a nice commercial { Bath Fitter } and it seems really
great and affordable and doesn't require breaking apart a
bathroom. Then it ends with the usual pitch of a Lifetime Warranty.
What should send up radar as to questioning this product.

Sadfully all the cereals in Wal*Mart are unhealthy.I consider corn flakes
unhealthy because all corn in the U.S.A is GMO.
Even a cereal like Quaker LIFE { still a favorite of mine } is
hardly spotted in a Wal*Mart.Eventually it won't be available.
Now Kroger's has all kinds of Organic Cereal and High-end
NON GMO cereals. However I gave up on cereals a couple years ago.
This means that Our Kids are growing up on stuff that almost guarantees
    health problems.

The biggest concern for me isn't the gene modification itself. Its the poisons applied that the plant is modified to handle that get taken up in the plants system, then consumed.
My Great Uncle use to crush up Milk Crackers and have it in a bowl with fruit and milk. Sometimes he poured coffee over the top. Next time I go to the grocery store Im gonna go in the healthy food area that's hidden hear the flowers and Im gonna see if they have any cereal that is non GMO and organic. If they do Ill get it and we will give it a try. Im all for stuff that's better for us.
Have you ever tried almond milk or any of those other milks?

I grew up a huge Milk person.Even after college I liked milk
    before bed.I went from whole milk to 2 % { took 10 years }
then to skim milk { another 10 years }.I gave up skim milk after
trying stuff like Rice milk. Then the last 5 years Almond milk.
I have never been in a Whole Foods store.Organic isn't
necessarily better { or so Nutritionist say } but I do not
    consume GMO's.

it is very difficult for a trucker like myself to be healthy. i drive 12 hours a day in accordance with DOT regulations, and when i am off duty i try to run a few laps around the rig for exercise while dodging lot lizards.

shopping for fresh fruit and veggies is out of the question.

Really rather simple and common sense. But since common
sense went by the way of being Politically Correct, the average Joe
Is at a loss. Advertising still requires heady thought, analysis and
of course some degree of bragging rights. However no amount of
Bragging Rights has been able to save SEARS.They are slowing
    dying off.
The question that need be asked about Bath Fitters claims is
simple. How do you plan to honor yer Lifetime Warranty.
You can't .Sears has managed with it's Lifetime warranty on it
Craftman's tools. That only can be honored at stores that are still
open.Their Craftsman tool line was sold about a year ago.
Sears probably understood that a few years ago ,when K-Mart
was going under.I go to Sears once a month to pay my Sears
MasterCard account.Pay it by a certain date and No Interest.
I grew up with certain basic rules.Never Put on Lay-away and
pay the full amount when possible to avoid Bank rates of Interest.
The question that need be asked is ... How is Bath Fitters capable
of Honoring a claim of Lifetime Warranty when Sears { once THE
Biggest Retailer } is going out of business.
Sears being The leader in guaranteeing a Lifetime Warranty on it
    Craftman's line.

The trick is to stay away from the middle of the store. All the healthy stuff is around the edges. The closer your get to the center, the worse the food is for you. The cereal isle is usually about center, near the candy isle and the chips.

I just look down those dark and foreboding corridors like they are the gateway to hell. :D

Low Sodium V8 is great for getting vegetables on the run. I like it with four or five shots of Tabasco.

8 oz is two helpings of vegetables. I usually have 16 oz in the morning when on the run. By the time I get to my customer site, I've had four helpings of vegetables. And I can feel it! That's what really motivates you. You start to feel the extra boost you get.

Baby carrots are great for snacking while driving. And I used to HATE broccoli but now eat it by the boatload raw. And broccoli is a fantastic food that offers many nutrients [anti-oxidants and flavonoids] you don't get from other foods. It definitely takes some adjusting but I eventually started craving it when I ran out.

You can usually get carrots and broccoli ready to eat [prewashed, cut and packaged] at the grocery store.

PS, I was on the road for five years. Not driving but flying, living in hotels, working up to 100-hours weeks, eating crap, and flying about 100,000 air miles a years. It almost killed me. One day I thought I was having a heart attack in Atlanta airport. That finally forced me to start backing off.

The stress and the hours were insane. One day I woke up in the strangest hotel room I had ever seen. I couldn't figure out what in the hell...WHAT IS THIS PLACE?!?! I couldn't remember where I was, what State I was in, what I was there for, or where I had to be. After about minute I realized I was home in my own bedroom. :D

For dinner this evening after working graves and then going to class and getting only about 6 hours' sleep in the past 3 days --

    - homemade beef a roni with vegies and flat noodles

    - red Sangria wine with a moonshine chaser

    - 1 extra shot of gin.

Today is my Friday. I am off for 3 days if I want it.

Silk unsweetened Almond Milk has 50% more calcium, and as much vitamin D as regular milk, but only 30 calories, and no sugar.

I love milk - I could drink it like water all day - but almond milk a great go-to if trying to reduce sugar or calories. For me it's the sugar. And right now, 16 ounces of milk puts me at my daily limit for sugar. It's really surprising how much sugar is in milk!

I think unsweetened almond milk might qualify as having one of the highest nutritional value to calorie ratios, of almost any food.

Which is so True. It's targeted sales Kiosk in order to pique
your Interest w/o the need to shop any further.
They are placed in Grocery and Retail stores so a consumer
    cannot miss them.
Kinda like how Miss Smarty Operates.
    Same basic technique.

Aside from GMO concerns, the trick with cereals is to look at not just the sugar content, but the total carbs, and esp the glycemic index, which tells you how that food really reacts with your body. It is how you catch bad food masquerading as healthy foods.

On a scale of 0-100, with pure glucose [pure sugar] being 100, Corn Flakes have a index value of 81. For comparison, donuts have an index value of 76. So as far as your body is concerned, Corn Flakes are worse than donuts and about the same as jelly beans, value 80.
    https://www.health.harvard.edu/dise...lycemic-index-and-glycemic-load-for-100-foods

When you spike your sugar by eating foods having a high glycemic index, insulin levels rise and quickly convert the sugar to fat. If you are going to go out and run, for most people that might be fine. But if you are going to sit at a desk in school or at work, it mostly goes to fat, especially depending on the total calories consumed.

I'm startin' to feel queasy sick to me stomach.I just read a
web page report that Kylie Jenner { age 21 } is set to become
a Billionaire. This is about The worst thing Imaginable for
    Mankind,let alone the United States.
That a ridiculously uneducated spoiled pampered
Beverly Hills brats who lives to traipse around like a whore
is so rewarded. It fits perfectly in my appraisal of them Kardashians.
They are Props for the Elites of California to distract and usher-in
a Life of cushy In Yer Face Voyerism or Female Chauvinism.
This is the very kind of hedonism that can, unchecked, rock a
society.Like during the reign of Julius Caesar.Leading to
crassness and a carefree indulgence of preoccupation of self
over fellow mankind.Nothing good can come of it.
It is virtually impossible to justify such rank egocentric a lifestyle.
