Trump will be gone soon enough and the status quo will be back ie millions of jobs off shored to China and USA with lower barriers to trade than anyone. Best hope libertarians have even had is Trump sends liberals off deep end to socialism and there is huge conservative/libertarian wave. Without Donald there is no hope!

You can't have small government without separation of powers.

You can't be against Constitutional limitations on the Executive and honestly claim that you are for small government.

Lol, Trump has NEVER been for lower trade barriers, and he wants to use government force to "save" our jobs from the free market. But keep pretending he's free trade. Fun stuff.

Lol, no reason? The only reason to believe it in the first place is deliberate self-delusion. He stated many, many times that his goal was government-controlled "fair" trade to "correct" trade deficits (which exist in a free market, by the way). His new excuse is just another lie that contradicts everything else he has said about the subject. Again, he's outright said he wants a tariff on German cars, not to protect free trade, but because he thinks there are too many of them here. Have you never listened to a word this man has actually said about trade?

How many more times do you want me to answer that weak deflection?

Your whole "we have to attack free trade to bring about free trade" argument is complete nonsense, and not even Trump himself believes it. He wants government-mandated "fair" trade without trade deficits, not free trade.

Except, you know, the Constitution, which says there are certain things that it is the job of other branches to do. I'm sorry you hate the Constitution, but it says taxes and duties are the responsibility of Congress.

You say in defense of his attack on free trade, without any sense of irony or consistency. How did you come to the conclusion that the only way to bring about free trade is to abandon free trade?

The Constitution says you are wrong. You are aware that tariffs are taxes and duties, yes?

You are essentially arguing that the best way to prevent injury is to injure yourself and then asking everyone else if they have a better idea.

For 14th time how would you bring about free trade if not exactly the way Trump is doing it? The way Obama and Bush did it, which is to say pay lip service to the concept of free trade once a month and then forget about it for a month??.

You can lower tariffs, you can create more trade deals, you can negotiate, etc. You are suggesting that we accomplish free trade by doing the opposite of free trade. What do you not get about that?

Also, as has been explained a million times over, your assumption that his goal is even free trade in the first place is completely false. He has stated time and time again that his goal is "fair" trade -- the government "correction" of trade deficits. His threat against German cars alone, based only on the fact that the thinks there are "too many" here completely sinks your argument.

Well at least you acknowledge that his big-government policies are hurting us. Now if only you would realize he doesn't care about free trade.

If that was possible, Trump would already been jailed for delusional of being the best at everything.

I always wonder if folks who post threads like this are really so gullible that they believe this nonsense, or whether they hope others are so gullible they'll believe this nonsense, or that they just like to troll.

I have noticed a pretty strong correlation between the types who believe in things like the earth is flat and we never went to the moon, and supporters of donald.

    Wholly anecdotal, I'll confess.
