The steel tariffs for example, raise our income. We deliver steel that you cant produce yourself, so your companies have to buy it anyways. We dont have a backlash in sales, but could raise the price while the american customers have to pay the higher price + the tariffs.

So the effect on Germany right now is zero.

Since trump fired at same time at China, China harasses american business now and cancelled Boeing orders, bans import of american cars ect and moves that business to Germany.

Sorry, but your comparison to Iran and North Corea is rather ridiculous, as the sanctions work only because European and all the other allies are joining it. You see North Corea works best as practically the rest of the world join them except China who at least threatens to join them if North Corea gets way out of line for them.

Iran works much worse, but still has tremendous effects, but Iran has some more allies not joining the boycot.

Sanctions on Russia still have an effect but work much worse as practically only the Western states are doing it and nobody else cares.

If you think through this further, you will see that US sanctions against Germany would not work. Everyone else would see it's just for egoistic economicals reasons and join it, if at all you will get a backfire from other countries who are aware of the intention and fear to be next on the list. The US is only taking itself out here for a reasonable small share of the world market to stimulate the home-grown industry. To even think about that other countries which reactions will vary from neutral to angry will play your pawns in a chessgame and boycot Germany is ridiculous. You are placing Germany, China, Mexico, Brazil and many other exporting nations in the same boat here.

By the way I consider all your discussions about actual wages and developments nonsense. The next 5-10 years will show if Trump's plan is a success or rather damaged the economy. If his actions lead to a booming and then on the long run competitive industry branches again which would foreseeable die out if the US politics does not react, then his plan was a huge success. If not and the customers are only paying hihgher prices in the US his actions were ****.What Wall Street and other markets are thinking about it, is psychology, nothing more, nothing less. What analysts here and experts there are writing about it is blabla to justify fees and consulting loans. How wages, unemployment and other economic data etc. develop right now is mostly independent from his tariffs.

Its far too early to judge his measures right now and it even depends on on further linked additional action in industry politics if it will pay out one day or not. As a national economy is a complex architecture I give a **** about what economic prophets predict right now. The truth about it will will be uncovered in the next years, if not decades.
