Slavery is still a thing in America, though it is illegal.

Muslims are probably every race on earth.

Islam is a religion, not a race.

BTW, All it takes to become a Muslim is to say one sentence.

We're absolutely not speaking of the same levels. There is still 200 000 slaves in the USA for a population of around 320 millions of inhabitants. In Mauritania we speak of around 800 000 people for a population of 3 millions.

Slavery is still a thing in "most", if not "all", Muslims countries.
It's a part of the religion

It was the government itself that stole the wages

Yes the 1967 referendum was vital and pivotal. Before that if you wanted to date an aboriginal person you had to apply to the government for permission under the “fauna and flora act”. Aboriginal people were not considered humans

And shameful. Sadly many communities still carry the scars

We are slowly righting the wrongs but it takes time

If you have a chance watch the movie "Rabbit proof fence". If it does not leave you with an overwhelming desire to punch Kenneth Branagh in the face then you have no soul

That's sad, but nowodays australian aren't guilty of that, even if it doesn't prevent to work at the unity of nation and try to help aboriginal healing their wounds.

    It's very positive.

Are you familiar with the term all over Islamic doctrine,

    "Which the right hand possesses"

It has both an origin and a meaning.

It is and I am one trying to "close the (health) gap. I work with a lot of Asians and Africans who are puzzled about why our indigenous people are not more cohesive and progressive. Only when I explain how much more oppressive the British colonials here were do they understand

Islamic law clearly recognises that slaves are human beings, but it frequently treats slaves as if they are property, laying down regulations covering the buying and selling of slaves.

It encourages the freeing of slaves, which has the good effect of diminishing the slave population of a culture and, paradoxically, the bad effect of encouraging those whose livelihood depends on slave labour to find new ways of acquiring slaves.

    Who can be enslaved
Under Islamic law people can only be legally enslaved in two circumstances:

    • as the result of being defeated in a war that was legal according to sharia
    • if they are born as the child of two slave parents
Other legal systems of the time allowed people to be enslaved in a far wider range of circumstances.

The sharia limits were often either ignored or evaded, and many instances of slave trading by Muslims were in fact illegal, but tolerated.

The following groups of people cannot be made slaves:

    • Free Muslims, but note that:
      • Slaves who convert to Islam are not automatically freed
      • Children born to legally enslaved Muslims are also slaves
    • Dhimmis
    Slave rights
Islamic law gives slaves certain rights:

    • Slaves must not be mistreated or overworked, but should be treated well
    • Slaves must be properly maintained
    • Slaves may take legal action for a breach of these rules, and may be freed as a result
    • Slaves may own property
    • Slaves may own slaves
    • Slaves can get married if their owner consents
    • Slaves may undertake business on the owner's behalf
    • Slaves guilty of crimes can only be given half the punishment that would be given to a non-slave (although some schools of Islamic law do allow the execution of a slave who commits murder)
    • A female slave cannot be separated from her child while it is under 7 years old
    • Female slaves cannot be forced into prostitution
    Slave rights to freedom
Islamic law allows slaves to get their freedom under certain circumstances. It divides slaves with the right to freedom into various classes:

    • The mukatab: a slave who has the contractual right to buy their freedom over time
    • The mudabbar: a slave who will be freed when their owner dies (this might not happen if the owner's estate was too small)
    • The umm walid, a female slave who had borne her owner a child
    Slaves must accept
    • Owners are allowed to have sex with their female slaves
    Restrictions on slaves
Islamic law imposes many restrictions on slaves:

    • Slaves cannot carry out some religious roles
    • Slaves can have only limited authority
    • Slaves cannot be witnesses in court
    • Killing a slave does not carry the death penalty in most schools of Islamic law
    • Slaves are punishable under Islamic law if they commit a crime - although for some major crimes they only receive half the punishment of free people

Here are 6 more countries where slavery is still a part of life — for now.

    1. Mauritania

Mauritania was the last country in the world to outlaw slavery in 1981. It wasn’t until 2007 that the government, facing international pressure, passed a law that would prosecute slave owners. Still, since then, the country has only prosecuted three cases of slavery, and according to the 2016 GSI, 1.06% of the population still live in bondage, with many children being born into slavery. This number changes, though — the aid group SOS Slavery, using a broader definition, estimated that 20% of the population was enslaved.

    2. India

India is home to the largest number of enslaved people in the world. An estimated 18,354,700 people, or 1.40% of the population, are reportedly living in modern slavery, which includes intergenerational bonded labor, forced child labor, forced marriage, and commercial sexual exploitation, among other forms. According to a report from Free The Slaves, poor villagers in particular are vulnerable to being enslaved through debt bondage and bonded labor, both of which are illegal. They’re forced to work in unsanitary, dangerous conditions in an effort to repay a constantly growing debt. India’s slavery issue is similar to neighbors Bangladesh and Pakistan.
And while India’s intelligence agency advised Prime Minister Narendra Modi to “discredit” the September 2017 report by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Australian rights group Walk Free Foundation, the United Nations defended its research, according to Reuters. (Walk Free Foundation published a separate report earlier about India estimates — ILO did not single out countries.) The labor ministry vowed to rescue 18 million bonded labors by 2030.

    4. Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, 3.97% of the population were found to be living in modern slavery, according to the Global Slavery Index 2016 report. The country is one of the largest producers of cotton, but at great cost; every year, the government forces over one million citizens to work in the cotton fields for weeks on end, Geographical reports. Those who refuse risk losing their jobs, or, if they’re students, expulsion. And it’s presented as “voluntary” work, according to the New York Times. In October 2013, then-president Islam Karimov praised the cotton workers: “Since olden days cotton has been seen as a symbol of whiteness, of spiritual purity. And only people of pure mind and beautiful soul are capable of farming it.” Uzbekistan phased out minors in 2015 after international boycotts.

Current president Shavkat Mirziyoyev appears to be reforming this practice — thousands of school teachers, college students and healthcare workers were recalled from cotton fields last September, according to Reuters.

Some human rights groups remain doubtful that real change will follow.

    5. Libya

In 2016, 1.130% of the Libyan population lived in modern slavery, and last November, the country shocked the world after a CNN investigation exposed actual slave auctions. Grainy cell phone footage of two young men being sold for the equivalent of $400 each seemed like something out of a nightmarish film, and sparked global outrage and protests. According to a report by Time, many migrants and refugees attempting to reach Europe by sea get caught in Libya and are kept in “horrific” detention centers where they are vulnerable to being beaten, raped, and sold as slave labor. Shortly after CNN’s original report, the country’s government announced that they’d launched a formal investigation into the problem .

I think, without denying all the violence that lived the aboriginal, that we should be cautious about the view of the "good savage". Until the 18th century in Europe, the view was that mankind was bad by nature. Then under the influence of thinkers like Rousseau, the myth of the "good savage" appeared, considering that people were good by nature and civilization made them bad.
We find a lot of this kind of thoughts today, especially in the western civilization. That's kind of easy, "savage" people (I would speak of native or indigenous, people, but I speak only of people who kept a tribal, prehistoric way of living) afraid people. Now they disappeared and get westernized, so it's easy to idealize them. They were humans too, and native american or other native got a lot of war between themselves too.
Any manichaeism can lead only to disasters.

That's the case of Africa, I don't have a real idea about the role of colonization, if it was positive or negative from the economical development point of view, without denying that a lot of violences occured during colonization. Some africans like to blame the west for everything bad, but when albinos get murdered and dismembered for witchcraft, the west i'nt responsible of that.
Some african like to blame the west for the regular ethnic conflicts, but they occured too before colonization, and that's the reason why africans were africans. In a way, the identity of Africa was born from the colonization, before the ethnic identity dominated, and some ethnic groups had no remorse to sell people.

In the end... you claimed that slavery disappeared "during european middle age"... and I sourced you wrong.
Christians/Jewish west started centuries earlier than Muslims on a massive scale, when Muslims started in just a couple of town.
And Muslims went on hardly a 100 years longer than Christians in the end. While Christians had it world wide, and Muslims did not.
Seems obvious that this all tips in the disadvantage of Christians.

That still makes Christians were violent... all over Europe... centuries earlier before the start of Islam in a couple of towns.

The west had basically violently oppressing about the entire globe in the 19th century.
It's absurd to claim they had to massacre people in Africa because those people "supposedly" were a threat.
The only threat the west had was less income from the lands the colonial powers were violently oppressing.[/quote]

You fail to prove North Africa was a threat, and the massacre of 100.000's of people was somehow justified.
You're just making it all up to whitewash what Christians and Jews did.

    you go source that.

Dude... India alone had like 300 million people. And you're conveniently are picking a time when the Christian west wasn't oppressing North to South America.

That does not outweigh and sweettalk what he did one bit. And that is the entire point.

Nope. Because the most people that died, was because Christians/Jews were doing that.

Nope. What you do is deflecting away from the fact that Christian/Jews were enslaving, oppressing and massacring far more people than Muslims ever did.

They are less nasty, because Christians/Jews do it far worse.
And that is in no way sweet talking what muslims did.

    not my problem.
still had it far longer, and on a bigger part on the planet than muslims.
It is factual correct that the wars raged by Christians/Jews were far bigger.
It's not as if muslims started WWII, it's not as if they dropped atomic bombs on cities.
Sure they did that 9-11. So... that's just 3 airplanes crashing in to a building.
Not in the same ballpark one bit as throwing an atomic bomb on a city.
Not remotely close to that in ANY way.

All people had slaves, and the muslims were 7th to 9th century, depending on how you calculate it, but the Arabs before them had slaves.

His education is absolutely irrelevant to the subject. And that disqualifies him.

Point is that they weren't muslim in that time. And that makes it so, that christians had slaves longer, and of a far bigger part of the planet than muslims.

That was really dumb, His education is key.

Why is it that everyone who actually reads Islamic doctrine, comes up with the same results.
I read the doctrine before I ever heard of Bill Wagner, and watched him quote much of what I already said.
