    Exactly what does "really intelligent" mean in this context? Prior to seeing this thread, I had no idea who Faith Goldy was and I have not yet been interested in listening to her to get an impression of her intelligence. However, I did google her and guess it is fair to say she is pretty. Has she taken an IQ-test and released her results or what is the exact reason the poll is about her?

    Generally speaking, I would say there is no correlation between intelligence and looks.

    Natalie Portman has very high IQ, I have heard and she is not exactly ugly.

    Being fluent in three languages does not necessarily mean you are smart. Plenty of anti-intellectual professional soccer players, for example, who've moved around a lot have the same accomplishment. I am fluent in four because I got three from birth and I am stupid as hell. :p

    PS. She is not even beautiful imo.

    I do not know if it is the black and white or the elegant fashion, but I feel women in the 30's were more beautiful that contemporary ones. Everytime I see a picture of a woman from that era, I am struck by how elegant they look... And no, it is not just my perverted, Conservative brain playing tricks on me... Or is it?

    "Hotness" seems to be a subjective term indicating the combination of physical appearance, actions, mentality and health in anyone initially attractive to the individual. Either gender can be "Hot" and actual knowledge of the person is not required depending on context.

    I personally never understood the difference between "beautiful", "sexy", "hot" and "pretty". I can understand the distinction between "cuteness" and "beauty", but not the one between "hotness", "sexiness" and "beauty". Aren't the previous just more vulgar ways of describing the latter?

    So, "sexy" and "hot" are mostly to be associated with behaviour and clothing than it is to be with physical appearence? Can someone with a less beautiful face who dresses and acts in a "seductive way" still be considered "hot"?

    Anyways, looking closer at some of this Faith Goldy's pictures, I realise she looks a bit like my mother when she was younger mixed with a 3rd cousin (from the maternal line) of mine, which just makes it weird for me to rate her as "hot" with tecoyah's definition of the term under consideration. :laughing:

    For me, vulgarity subtracts from hotness.

    That and belly-button piercings. Those are a total turn-off.

    I have a very hard time pinpointing "hotness". I do know what I consider female beauty though... Perhaps I am just too prude for that label. :p

    While it is often true that conservatives have rather warped views on gender issues and in their personal proclivities, I would not call it perverted to admire such vintage beauty. After all, I not only admire the likes of such beauties, I am in absolute awe of them.

    As I mentioned on another thread where we discussed this matter, these women were indeed more elegant and IMO more beautiful because their beauty came from within. It was what called "charm" and does not come from any form of externalities. Thus, since such beauty comes from her heart and soul, it is an eternal beauty ~ one that will last forever.

    Sit back, relax and feel free to be equally sexist the other way by sharing male faces. There is nothing wrong with being beautiful. I see this thread as one where we show appreciation for beauty. :)

    ... Unless you are Faith Goldy herself, there is no need to be offended.

    As far as beauty goes, to me, they are a different species. In a positive way. :love:
