Thanks, man. That's a hell of a story! I can't imagine being on a boat that was sinking, and I've been shot at as well. I've always found things like smithing and creating things from raw materials to be rather fascinating. I'm bereft of talent so artists and people capable of such things have my utmost respect. There are some complicated processes involved and I imagine the failure rate is high at first. I'll keep up with this thread for more pics and vids, enjoy!
I really miss that creaky old, wooden boat as it was an ideal place to hide out from a particular angry, trigger happy woman but that's another story. I don't think that you should assume that you are "bereft of talent" and it takes very little to make things out of steel. You might be surprised at what you can make with just a hand held band saw and a simple arc welder. I had no interest at all in blacksmithing until a good friend asked me to help him set up a blacksmith shop & soon, I was hooked. I just learned by reading books, practice and ruining a lot of perfectly good steel making god-awful ugly things at first. So, yes, the failure rate was a bit high at first but now I've got things that I designed, made, signed & dated in museums & homes around the country that will last for centuries. Unfortunately, I lost all my photos when the previous hard drive died on my old computer but I've got some stuff I made around the house. I think you'll enjoy this forum & look forward to reading some of your views even if they conflict with mine. I fully believe that mature adults can hold differing views & discuss them civilly & pleasantly. Enjoy your weekend...
If you go on a cocaine and hooker binge you might be able to activate the fun gene. It works best if it's not your money. I have several lives I keep them chained in the basement
Harry Enfield made it impossible for me to trust a German ha ha ha, I know quite a few (My best mate lives in Berlin) I am secretly playing this sketch out in my mind whenever I speak to them
When I had a life, sex and drugs was the norm, it's no big deal since it's an epidemic where we're from.
My hobbies are wrenching on my vehicles, fishing, and the occasional computer game mainly Battlefield. On the weekends now that football season has started you'll find me parked on the couch for the majority of the day watching the games while simultaneously trying to multi task and actually do stuff around the house....Which usually never works, watching football usually overrides doing the standard household chores lol.
I had a great social life until people f*cked me over, especially friends. Now I don't want to have social life. I just work and have business relations.
Good techno, good drugs and a long weekend was a lot of fun 20 years ago, I think now I'm 41 it might not be so much fun. My mate lives in Berlin and is still partying hard I fear when I visit him lol.
Paul Walker said a difference between a cat and a dog, God rest his soul. He said when an intruder kills you in a home invasion, a cat will just lick your blood if hungry or thirsty enough. The dog will cry and mourn and will not get over you. The dog will never eat you. Dogs of Veterans often sense everything and go and lie on the owners' grave.
