Hmmmmm…… overcrowded classrooms..... gee, maybe if we stopped importing countless millions of the poorest of the poorest from every ass-backwards hellhole on this planet (and their children) then overcrowding wouldn't be as bad as it is.....

    Excerpt from your link:

"The Enlightenment included a range of ideas centered on reason as the primary source of authority and legitimacy and came to advance ideals like liberty, progress, tolerance, fraternity, constitutional government and separation of church and state. In France, the central doctrines of the Enlightenment philosophers were individual liberty and religious tolerance, in opposition to an absolute monarchy and the fixed dogmas of the Roman Catholic Church. The Enlightenment was marked by an emphasis on the scientific method and reductionism, along with increased questioning of religious orthodoxy—an attitude captured by the phrase "Dare to know"."

Unfortunately, this enlightenment was used to outwit, enslave and exploit the non-awakened nations. It is still going on, sadly.

No, I don't think so, if you compare them with the bankers and CEOs of big companies. Actually, those are in the private sector. We have to compare them with other servants in the public sector, like government officials. For instance how much does a librarian make a year? Or a Municipal clerk? Albeit they wouldn't need a university degree. Hard to find an equal job to compare with. Teachers are unique in that they bear a great responsibility looking after and educating the future generation.. they should get paid more than the average Joe from the button factory! Definitively!

    Talk about $$ and cents!LOL
If you had paid attention, you would have noticed that I corrected myself and mentioned jobs in the public sector. Why don't you help me with that?

Yes, I should know, but sadly, I forgot!
For instance you have that hurricane going on just now, where everything is in an upheaval, no school for the kids either, I imagine. Where will they add the lost days or perhaps weeks? End of June or into July? Cut some Holidays short?

What is it then what you are doing in the Near and wider Middle East?
You keep reshaping Germany after every war, soon there will be nothing left of it!
After 9/11 the US has started in earnest to create chaos and reshape the Middle East region.
Please, enlighten yourself about what is going on:
According to this map, taken from one of Thomas P. M. Barnett’s power point slides, presented at a conference held at the Pentagon in 2003, every state in the pink zone must be destroyed. This project has nothing to do with the struggle between classes at the national level nor with exploiting natural resources. Once they are done with the expanded Middle East, the US strategists are preparing to reduce the North West of Latin America to ruins.

If you compare anyone with CEOs they are underpaid.

Teaching is one of the easiest degrees. It is not in any way comparable to a degree in medicine, engineering, law, MBA, etc.

That mechanic tightening your brake pads also provides a life and death service. Should he get CEO pay too? This is the problem with central planning and price fixing - it never stops.

So then they are not asylum seekers and you agree they should not be allowed in to the USA.

    Good to know.

My best teacher was a history teacher he told me everything is propaganda and you shouldn't believe anything that someone tells you ESPECIALLY if they are a teacher.

Those that can DO! Those that can't teach!

The photo was taken recently...these were “kids” I taught when I began teaching. They were 12amd I was 22.. they are now grandparents and last I saw them was about 45 years ago. They found me on Facebook and we met and they surprised me with a plaque They are successful adults , but they did tell me of the kids who were killed or ended up in jail. ..the joy of teaching!

I don't know enough about how things are structured in other states, but the bloated Administrative component in California is outrageous. We're talking $100's of thousands of dollars for many senior administrators.

A bond trader earns their money by their own effort, so that comparison isn't even relative.

You might want to actually have some knowledge on the subject before commenting. It would help add something to the conversation.

Memes are worthless, which might explain why your using them.

Not a public school? I can't imagine a public school getting away with that.
